But what if I told you that you could turn your clutter (which you're probably always tidying up and just moving to different places around the house!) into cash—all from your phone—and without having to host a car boot sale in the drizzle?
Enter: Vinted. I’ve been buying and selling on Vinted for a while now, and it’s become my go-to way to clear out gently used clothes, toys, books and even beauty bits and make a tidy little sum doing it. Today I’m sharing my 9 tried-and-tested hacks to maximise profits on Vinted for busy mums. Earn some cash on Vinted—even when you’re short on time.
1. Batch List While the Kids Nap
Time is precious, so don’t list items one by one across days. Instead, gather 5–10 items and do a batch photo session instead. Lay everything on a plain background near natural light (I hang things in my son's room as the light is best there). Then take 2–3 photos per item.

2. Use Search-Friendly Titles
Think like a buyer. Instead of writing “lovely dress”, go for:
“Next Pink Floral Skater Dress Age 5 – Excellent Condition”
Including brand, item type, colour and size helps your listing show up in more searches—and attract serious buyers faster. I've also learned that having more than 3 pictures in a listing and taking a picture of the size label helps to garner more interest in items too.
3. Price Just Right (Not Just Low)
It’s tempting to price low to sell fast and clear all that seemingly never-ending clutter, but don’t undercut yourself. Check similar listings first. If your item is new or barely worn, price it slightly higher and offer bundle discounts (set this in your profile). Buyers love a deal—and you make more per order.
4. Bundle Offers = Bigger Profits
Encourage mums like you to buy more in one go. Add a profile note:
“3 for €10 on baby clothes – message to bundle!”
This saves on packaging, time and shipping—and it means more money in your pocket from just one sale.
5. Refresh Stale Listings
If something hasn’t sold in a couple of weeks, edit the title or re-upload the photos. It bumps your item back up in search results and gives it a second chance to shine.
Tip: I do this during ad breaks or when waiting outside the school gates—quick and easy!
6. Maintain a 5-Star Seller Rating
Good reviews matter. Make sure to:
• Ship items quickly (usually within 2–3 days)
• Wrap things nicely—I always have a stash of new delivery bags in different sizes waiting to go. I pick them up cheaply in discount shops.
• Message buyers with a quick “thanks for buying!”
It helps build trust and keeps your items selling steadily.
7. Know Your Couriers & Save Time
Most Vinted postage in Ireland is done through An Post, DPD, or Evri and Vinted UK is via Royal Mail, Yodel or Evri. I used to print my own labels but it took so much time that I now use the digital labels which I keep on my phone and have them scanned and printed at the post office. The less I have to do with 3 kids in tow the better! If I have multiple packages I just write a message on the corner of it to know what's in it. I drop parcels off just after the school run—it saves me a separate trip while I'm already out on the road!

8. Prep Items Properly
Freshly washed, lint-rolled and folded clothes sell best. If something’s been in storage, give it a once-over with a clothes brush and remove pet hair. It's a good idea to throw it in the wash to freshen it up before sending it to someone, no one wants to receive anything dirty and we want those positive views to get more sales. First impressions count—and clean, neat listings get top prices!
9. Time Your Listings Right
New listings get the most attention. I’ve found the best times to post are:
• Weekday mornings (7–9am) before school/work
• Sunday evenings (8–10pm) when other mums are browsing
Use these windows to maximise visibility—and watch those “you’ve sold an item” alerts ping in!
