Here are four of the top places in Ireland where you can immerse yourself in nature, pick fresh fruit and enjoy the simple pleasure of gathering produce straight from the source.

1. The Apple Farm, Tipperary
Nestled in the fertile lands of the Golden Vale, The Apple Farm is a standout for its diverse range of fruits. Visitors can pick a variety of apples, as well as plums, strawberries, and raspberries when in season. The farm also has a shop where you can purchase fresh apple juice, cider, and jams. Perfect for a family day out, The Apple Farm has been a favourite destination for generations.
2. The Village at Wheelocks – Wexford
Situated just outside Enniscorthy, The Village at Wheelocks is a family-run farm has been growing fruit since the 1950s. Known for its famous Wexford strawberries, the farm also offers raspberries, gooseberries, and pumpkins for picking. It’s a great place to explore as it features walking trails, farm animals, and a lovely café serving local produce.
3. Corderry Fruit Farm – Louth
Corderry Fruit Farm, located near Dundalk, offers strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, and pumpkins for public picking. The farm is open seasonally, so be sure to check their website for dates. In addition to fruit picking, Corderry also hosts seasonal events and has a small farm shop.
4. Lambert’s Fruit Farm – Dublin Mountains
If you’re near Dublin, Lambert’s Fruit Farm in the Dublin Mountains is a popular choice for strawberry, raspberry, and tayberry picking. They offer limited picking sessions twice a week during the peak summer months, so it’s best to arrive early as the fruit can be picked clean quickly.

While researching for this blog post, I discovered that a lot of popular 'pick your own' fruit farms have closed, such as the ever-popular Ballycross Apple Farm in Wexford and I would hate for anyone to turn up to a farm in the hopes of a lovely fruit picking experience only to be disappointed!
