Every day, parents have to deal with stains on their baby's clothes. Some of them are too stubborn to get out, so we have to remove the stained clothes from their wardrobe. This can be saddening as most often, it's one of our favourite outfits on the baby that can get ruined. Stains on their clothes can be due to various reasons like poop, spit-ups, feeding or lotions and baby oil. Such stains need careful handling and efficient removal so the baby girls and boys clothing lasts longer. In this article, I have created a guideline on to get the stains out of your baby clothes, along with everything you need to know about stain removal.

Steps to Remove Stains from Baby Clothes:
It doesn't matter how harsh the stain is or of what nature it is, here are the steps that you can use on any kind of stain to get quick stain removal results.
Step 1: Act Fast
Don't give the stains time to set and turn into stubborn stains that won’t come off easily. Instead, wash the stains immediately when you notice them. However, if you don’t have time, at least let them soak in cold water with detergent or rub the stains with washing up liquid, so you can easily wash them later.
Step 2: Choose your Detergent
Baby’s skin is soft and delicate, so it is prone to damage caused by the harsh chemicals that are usually found in washing detergents. You will need to opt for the best detergent that will not harm your baby - always stick to a non-bio for baby clothes. Use dermatologist-approved hypoallergenic detergents that are safe to use on baby clothes.
Step 3: Remove Top Stains
Sometimes, what you are seeing is more than the stain. It could be solid food residue or solidified spit-ups on the clothes of your baby. If this is the case, you need to remove those residues first and then proceed toward the stain removal step. Use a clean paper towel or a gentle brush to remove them as the vigorous rubbing can damage the cloth. Washing up liquid works well as a cheap stain remover.
Step 4: Pretreat the Stain
Before washing the entire garment, pre-treat the stains to remove them so your efforts and time are safe. Pre-treating the stain is crucial as normal routine washing cycles are not enough to remove the stains and that's the reason why you may often find the stain is still there after the clothing has dried after washing.
Step 5: Wash the Clothes with Regular Process
Once you have pre-treated the stains, the next step is to wash the clothes as you normally do. However, the washing instructions are different for each type of fabric - you can find on the labels of the clothes. Follow the conditions as recommended, so the clothes colour and condition won't fade.
Step 6: Double Check Before You Are Done
Sometimes, choosing the best detergent and following the standard stain removal procedure is not enough. After the washing cycle is finished, you need to check if the stain has been removed or not. Before drying the clothes, check it and if the stain is still there, you need to repeat the above practice. However, some stains like those from the oil or any liquid are difficult to check on wet fabric. Dry the clothing and then check whether you need to repeat this process or not.
