How To Make Your Home Look Better in Ten Minutes Or Less

More often than not the sheer hustle and bustle of daily life stops us from spending quality time on refurbishing our home. However, it's important to never underestimate the little accents and décor that make your home stand out from the others.

Even if you don't have time to spend on time consuming home refurbishments, you can still take 10 minutes of your spare time to make some cute, non-expensive and effective alterations to your living space.

Here are some savvy, time-efficient and lovely ideas on how to make your home look polished and better in 10 minutes or less.

Add some greenery
You'd be amazed at how luscious green plants and planters can revive your home and add some freshness to it. All you need to do is go to the nearest florist or garden centre and choose an air-purifying indoor plant, or plants, and place them around your living room.

Plants such as succulents like Aloe Vera, peace lily or cacti don't take too up too much space or require a lot of maintenance so they're perfect for dotting around your home. When placed in vivid pots they make for a lovely decorative element too.

Opt for nature-inspired aesthetic accents
Nothing exudes elegance and tranquillity in a home like placing or hanging a few decorative ornaments. The best ones are those that are totally unique, refreshing, and invigorating. Discover the unique carvings of cow skulls with majestic horns or decorate the walls of your home with Persian inspired elements such as hanging rugs, copper pots, or clay cups.

Anything made out of natural materials like oak, bamboo, wool, or similar will give out a fantastic aura, and it takes only 5 minutes to hang or place them.

Clear out the clutter
Most often, the thing that will utterly reshape a home in less than 10 minutes is a quick de-cluttering. If you see a pile of boxes, piles of clothes or objects on top of your drawers and worktops, then your home is completely jammed and it's not good for the look of your home - or your mind!

You can make it look better by clearing out that clutter  and by moving things out of your way. By simply moving things out of the sight will make your home look appealing and inspiring. Investing in storage is key and it will make your home look all the more lovely and organised.

Let things breathe
Once you have cut the clutter, you can quickly rearrange the existing home items differently so they would look chic and fresh. From time to time, let your furniture breathe by moving it from one side to another, getting new soft furnishings such as new pillow covers and reorganising your shelves.

Don’t put things close to each other - divide books on the shelves, add space for decorative items like picture frames and things your want to have on display. By moving things slightly away, you will give your home an airier feel in under 10 minutes.

Embrace patterns
Sometimes the smallest changes to your decor can make a huge interior design transformation. By adding different patterned cushions, rugs, and curtains you will significantly change the layout of your rooms in a blink of an eye.

Invest in some interestingly shaped and patterned vases, candle holders, or table cloths to break the boring outlook of your rooms in under 10 minutes.

Get rid of unwanted or unused items
Very often the abundance of possessions you have can cause anxiety and stress, plus it can make your home look crammed and messy. Look at your home, inspect all the rooms and simply get rid of the things that you no longer use or want.

Taking out even one single item like an old piece of furniture will instantly revive your home. Rule out anything that doesn't fit your design décor and you will see how your room looks spacious, better and beautiful.

Take a look at your home after applying these alterations and pieces of advice and you'll see just how much more gorgeous, open and serene your home now looks.
