As parents prepare for Coronavirus self-isolation and primary school
closures already in place, many will be looking for ideas on how to keep
their children busy with activities that are both entertaining and
educational. In response, STA, a UK educational charity dedicated to
teaching swimming, have complied their resources to create a free
downloadable water safety educational pack to help teach children how to
stay safe in and around water in a fun and engaging way.
With swimming
lessons being cancelled up and down the country too, where water safety
is taught, this educational pack will help parents carry on the water
safety message from home, and keep youngsters occupied without
compromising school learning time.
The STA pack contains a 40-page Water Safety Booklet, which is aimed at
children aged eight years and over. The bright, colourful booklet
contains lots of fun activities that can be completed at home;
educational activities that the whole family can get involved with too,
so everyone can learn about water safety.
For younger
children, there is also a load of free different colouring-in sheets.
Kids love colouring-in, but educationally it also helps hone fine motor
skills and helps improve pencil grip – and gives little ones an
opportunity to get creative and enjoy screen-free time.
For Octonauts fans, there is also a range of learning activities
featuring the TV Show’s favourite characters. Plus, lots more, including
Mother’s Day and Easter themed activities featuring STA’s loveable
water safety mascot, STAnley.
