Travelling To France With Condor Ferries ♥

*We received a complimentary sailing from Condor Ferries in exchange for this feature, however, as always, all thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own.

Every year we travel to Jersey in the Channel Islands to visit my father. Jersey is a perfect holiday destination for families as it's so family friendly, there's lots to do with kids and there's a playground at almost every turn!

We love the island, but during this holiday we wanted to experience something new. So when the opportunity came to us to travel to St. Malo in France on a day trip with Condor Ferries we were delighted that we'd be able to experience somewhere new on our holiday and take the boys to France - a country they've never been to before.

Condor Ferries offer many different routes from the U.K. to the Channel Islands and from the Channel Islands to France. One route we'd love to do in the future is the Jersey to Guernsey route, as Guernsey is an island we've never been to before but would love to experience.

We travelled on the Condor Rapide service from Jersey to St. Malo which took approximately an hour and twenty minutes.

Boarding the ferry was quick - thankfully with two small children in tow - and we sat in our allocated seats which were situated next to the windows so we had a great view of St. Malo as we sailed up to port.

The boys and I had never been on a ferry before so they were so excited. Out on deck was very windy, so we only went out for a short time but it was great to able to get out and get some fresh air. I suffer from sea and travel sickness but thankfully, as the ferry was quite large, I didn't feel sick at all.

You're free to walk around the ferry as it's sailing and it has a bistro which served hot and cold food - perfect for anyone crossing who wanted to have breakfast on board. It also had a little gift shop selling sweets and toys and we bought chocolates and sweets for the boys here.

There's a small kids area with beanbags and a TV showing cartoons but we brought the boys tablets with us so they were able to have a snack and watch something to keep them entertained form the comfort of their own seats.

The ferry also has a bureau de change which we used to change currencies (Jersey uses the Jersey Pound and Pound Sterling). It also has a duty free shop where I bought a new perfume at an amazing price - so much cheaper than back home so that was a real treat.

It was great to sail to France on such a large and comfortable ferry and thankfully our boys were well behaved on both sailings!

The port in St. Malo is just a short walk from the city walls so it's very central. You can read all about our day trip to St. Malo with kids if you're wanting to plan a day trip and are looking for some inspiration.

I worked out that our sailings with Condor cost roughly £17 per adult and £12 per children, which I think is a great price considering there are other ferry companies travelling to just the other Channel Islands and are charging a fortune!

The Condor Ferries day trip from St. Malo to Jersey is such an affordable day trip and a great one to experience if you're on the island and want to experience something new.

The Condor Rapide is also a car ferry so if you're confident to drive in France you can venture further afield from St. Malo to the likes of Mont St. Michel - which we would love to see some day and even to Disneyland Paris as there are trains running from St. Malo to there. We'd love to do a journey like that when the boys are older.

We loved our experience with Condor Ferries and would definitely go on another trip from Jersey with them in the future.

You can plan, book and see other Condor Ferries routes (they also sail from the UK) on the Condor Ferries website.
