2016 was the year I finally took the bull by the horns and decided that I had to do something about my weight. My weight is something I've struggled with since I was 19 - a lifestyle of inactivity and takeaways started it all off, and two babies later I was feeling less than pleased with myself and how I looked.
On July 30th I made a simple change to my diet - instead of skipping breakfast and then snacking on junk food, I began having a high protein shake each morning and then a lunch and dinner later on in the day.
This was such a simple change, making it very easy for me to stick to and later on in the year I even began vlogging about my weight loss journey. I meant to do a vlog update two weeks ago, but with Christmas preparations and then the festive season being in full swing, I just haven't had the time. You can check out my channel if you're interested in watching my weight loss update vlogs.
I'll begin vlogging about my weight loss journey again in the New Year and hopefully I'll be able to do a weekly update, but for now I thought I'd share my achievements from the year here on the blog and a giveaway for any of my readers who are on/or hoping to go on, a weight loss journey too.
This year I've lost a total of 105cm off my body. My biggest losses have been in my bust and hips and even though I got a bit lax with my whole diet and fitness regime in December, I haven't had a big gain in my centimeters.
I started listening to my Thinking Slimmer Slimpod over a month ago now, but I find that I can go a week straight of listening and then forget and I feel as if I'm totally failing with it then. I'm really going to put an effort into listening for a month straight come January and hopefully I'll see some positive changes in my attitude to food and losses with my measurements and on the scales too.
I've dropped two dress sizes this year and I now wear a size 14 in tops and dresses and a size 16 in bottoms. It's great to be able to go shopping and actually feel good about what I'm seeing back in the mirror. I'm wearing clothes that I've had in my wardrobe that have been neglected for years as I couldn't fit into them, but now they fit fine and some are even loose on me.
My goal for the New Year is to lose 42lbs and hopefully with some hard work, exercise and a balanced diet I can achieve this. I would be lovely to be slimmer for summer and not hide away in leggings, like I have done for previous years.
