19 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #2 ♥

Tomorrow I reach the halfway stage of my pregnancy, I can't believe how quickly it's all going by now and it doesn't seem that long until our second precious baby will be in our arms. We've seen baby twice this week - once at our private gender scan and again at our (almost) 20 week hospital appointment and all is going great. It feels so surreal to finally know the gender and we've decided not to share, only ourselves and six other people know and that's the way we'd like to keep things until baby arrives. Baby was adorable in the scan. They have the cutest face and were cuddled up to the side of my womb. They were also upside down which reminded me of the arch of a rainbow - well, they are my little rainbow baby after all.

This week I've gotten ill again thanks to my darling son coming home with a cold from playschool. I can't stop coughing and I think the cold is turning into a chest infection now, it's horrible! This week I've also tried to introduce the idea of having a new baby in the house to Tyler Lee. We took him along to the gender scan and he was mesmerised by hearing the heartbeat and afterwards was giving kisses to the 3D pictures we got of the baby. I think he's a bit worried that I'll forget him though because he's constantly coming up to me for cuddles, has started calling me mumma again instead of mummy and he is following me everywhere. He doesn't want to leave me out of his sight!

This week...

Baby is the size of a - Crepe Suzette, according to my Ovia pregnancy app. I'm love being able to see baby's size in relation to Parisian bakery treats.

I'm looking forward to - relaxing with my boys over Christmas, I seriously can't wait for my Christmas dinner.

My favourite moment was - seeing the baby in 3D, it was amazing to see their little face and see them cuddled up to the side of my womb.

I've been feeling - like I'm about to cough up a lung... I may have to give us all a Dettol bath once a week! I joke of course, I'm not that obsessive about germs... yet!

I've been buying for baby - I'm in the process of ordering their first summer outfit. It'll be a handmade piece and it's just adorable!
I'm missing - the energy I had before I got this cold, I honestly hate being sick.

I'm craving - still mayo, I smother my chips with it. I've also been having roasted chicken with potatoes, stuffing, gravy and veg and I can't get enough of that dinner either.

I'm loving - looking online at all the adorable things I'd like to get for baby, the majority being from Etsy and Instagram shops. It'll be lovely to order some things in the New Year and to get started on the nursery.
I've been meaning to - start filling in the baby's journal. I'll begin doing it some evening over Christmas.

I can't wait for - the day when I'm able to feel the baby moving. I know they're moving in there but I've felt nothing so far.

  1. Ahhhhh those scan snaps are adorable! The baby is already so beautiful!!! Dettol baths sound good to me...what is it about pregnancy and a need for cleanliness?!
I keep seeing a little outfit that I would love for a specific gender but I cant buy yet obviously, I'll have to show you - its on Instagram!

Also I didnt feel ANY movement this time until around 23 weeks!!! xx

    1. Thank you so much Hayley. I'm half joking about the Dettol bath/half thinking it's a good idea, lol! You MUST show me the outfit on Instagram :)x

  2. Awww Fiona, many congratulations. It has definitely moved so fast and I am sure you can not wait to meet he/she and am sure Tyler lee will love the baby just as much when it arrives.

  3. Hope you're feeling better soon - I had a phase of catching back to back germs from my daughter via nursery and felt awful, even without being pregnant. Hopefully the New Year will bring lots of energy.

  4. How wonderful! I remember that sonogram for my each of my two kids. It was so exciting! It's magical to see them. I love the Crepes Suzette comparison. :) We just had a book that told how many inches, not nearly as much fun.

  5. This is so adorable and you are glowing! Having a baby is such a beautiful experience and you're going to love being a mother. Please do record everything you want because the time will pass and you'll want to be able to capture the feelings again. Pretty blog!

  6. Aw it is good to see you back! I have not seen you here in a while and was wondering how you were doing. Glad bubba is doing well I hope that you continue to document all the events that take place during your pregnancy and maybe give it to bubba when he is older as a memento.

  7. OMG! It is so lovely to see your baby so clearly in those scan pics! I look forward to hearing more about baby and how you are feeling and also how Tyler Lee is getting on as you help him become accustomed to the idea of a new little one at home. xx

  8. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family! May 2016 bring you a happy and healthy pregnancy. All the best to you and your family.

  9. The pictures are so lovely :) we are planing on having a 3D scan at some point too, we had it at 30 weeks with Monkey. Its exciting knowing that you will be having a boy or a girl and then picking out a name. I really hope you get over your cold soon and get some time to do some journalling xx

  10. Congratulations for taking good care of yourself during pregnancy. Most couples I know still don't want to know the gender of their baby until it's born, more like a surprise for them as well. It's great that you can now look at the picture inside your tummy through a tech scanner device.

  11. Congratulations! Pregnancy can be an exciting, but also challenging time. There are a lot of changes in your body that you need to cope up with. Those photos would really be a great memorabilia for your child to look into.

  12. Great post! This makes me miss being pregnant!! I swear I'd do it again in a heartbeat! I did the 3d ultrasound with my last two pregnancies and loved it! I can't believe how much like the baby I gave birth to they looked like! So real!!

  13. Had a good laugh about the Dettol. Remember to take time to breathe and relax as much as possible. You are going to need all of your energy once your little blessing arrives. Beautiful pictures indeed!

  14. Congrats to you! I wish I had gotten a 3d look at picture of my baby but my insurance didn't cover it the doc did let me get a peak though. I threw up so much during my pregnancy that it was a blur.

  15. So nice to get that reassurance. Good luck with keeping the secret - not sure I'd be able to do that.

  16. Congratulations on 19 weeks, how exciting! I remember both of my pregnancies seem to drag on forever, but then I missed it as soon as I wasn't pregnant anymore...strange how that works! Good luck and best wishes! :)

  17. Oh those scans are amazing, I am always in awe at how much you can actually see, and having never had one myself, I just think it is awesome x

  18. Awww this is so amazing! Congratulations by the way. This must be such a great and exciting time for you. All the best, love!

  19. First off, congratulations!! I am so sorry you are under the weather! My son bought home a cold too. Of course, he is almost over his and mine is lingering and turning in to Bronchitis. Go figure. LOL The scans are amazing! Hope you feel better soon!

  20. Congratulations, how exciting. Pregnancy is a beautiful experience, hopefully by now you are feeling better and spending time with your boys and awaiting the arrival of your little.
