I love a challenge, especially when it has anything to do with beauty so I immediately said yes when Fragrance Direct, yes that wonderful website which offers amazing discounts on well-known beauty brands, asked me to take part in their three minute makeup challenge using three different products from the ranges the sell to create a makeup look in three minutes or less. Now having a fifteen month old son who has a penchant for taking my makeup whilst I'm getting ready I thought this would be quite a doddle for me and in reality I didn't do to badly at all. I would now consider myself a pro at getting ready at quick speed. I've given up on using a foundation brush, it just takes too bloody long, I make do with my fingertips and I actually find that it makes the foundation sit better on my skin, whether it's the heat from my fingers or what I don't know but I think my makeup looks better when applying it like this. My theory is proved in the above pictures as they haven't been edited at all, I just used the '1 Tap Enhance' button on Fotor to correct the lighting.
L'Oreal Visable Lift Foundation in 'Honey'
Bourjois Eye Pearls Quintet in 'Creation'
Maybelline Colour Sensation Popstick in 'Pink Sugar'
So how did I do it I hear you ask?! I quickly applied the L'Oreal Visible Lift foundation with my fingertips. Applied my MAC 'Peachykeen' blusher. I then applied a deep blue and light blue shade mix from the Bourjois Eye Pearls Quintent, this gave a gorgeous blue shade which gave a lovely, almost smokey-like look to my eyes. I then applied some of my LOOkX mascara, which is one of my favourite mascaras ever and some Essense eyeliner to my bottom lash line.I finished the look with MAC's 'Fabby' lipstick with Maybelline's 'Pink Sugar' on top to give it a bit of a gloss effect. I find that 'Pink Sugar' gives no colour to my lips but is extremely moisturising and does have a great gloss to it. It also smells so sweet and delicious, the scent reminds me of a lollipop so I can see why it's called a Popstick.
Overall, I'm really impressed with the L'Oreal foundation I picked from Fragrance Direct, the colour is a great match for me and it makes the skin look really lovely and with the Bourjois Eye Pearls, the colour of the shadows is great, I'm so glad I chose 'Creation'. I was let down with the Maybelline Popstick due to the lack of colour pigment within it. I managed to complete this look within the three minutes which just goes to show what you can do when you set yourself a challenge, no more excuses for lengthy makeup application for me. I knew I could do it in three minutes. Three... it's a magic number after all!

Def the sort of make up we should all be using in the 3 min child free moments that we have.
ReplyDeletei just cant imagine how you can do make up in 3 minutes, well done you have managed, it takes me 10-15 minutes including foundations, concealer, pen, eyeshadows, blush, mascara
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like make up all mother's need! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteDon't think I could manage this but you look fab!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! I find that I've been applying my makeup so much quicker since I had my son too, but with the amount of concealer I need to use I'd never be able to do it all in three minutes. I'm going to time myself out of curiosity tomorrow and see how I fare!
