Gorgeous Gift Ideas For Baby's 1st Christmas

Products with a * symbol have been gifted, however, as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

A baby's 1st Christmas is such a magical time in any parents life. Witnessing the magic of Christmas through a baby's eyes is something incredibly special and even if your little one is too young to take in the wonder of twinkling fairy lights and beautifully adorned trees, just having a baby in the house at Christmas is so lovely.

Although your baby will not remember their first Christmas, I believe it's still nice to get them a little gift and age dependent, something they may need in the upcoming months.

I have three sons who were 10 months, 7 months and soon to be 5 months at Christmas time and these are some of the gorgeous gift ideas which I got for them for their first Christmases.

Keepsake music box

A music box is a gift which I have gotten all three of my boys and it acts as a beautiful keepsake for their nursery. This Mrs. Rabbit and Peter Ceramic Musical Box by Beatrix Potter* (£32) not only features these well-loved characters, but is a charming and traditional gift, offering the soothing sounds of Au Clair De La Lune, a lovely, calming tune for babies.

Indoor swing

Depending how old your baby will be for their 1st Christmas, an indoor swing is a great idea if they'll be turning 6 months +. I love this Babysteps Velvet Swing (€74.99) and have it as my baby's main gift this Christmas. This gorgeous swing is available in a selection of colours, but the Ecri colour featured above is my favourite. A gift sure to bring a lot of joy to your precious baby and it can be used up to 20kg. I bought mine from Chapter Baby.

Changing bag/Stroller Organiser

A good changing bag is something every parent and baby needs and this Peter Rabbit Baby Collection Changing Backpack by Beatrix Potter* (£64) is super sweet and so functional too. The backpack design means that it's perfect for taking on days out with your baby. It has lots of room for everything you may need for baby while out and about and it will be used for years to come.

Alternatively, a stroller organiser is a lovely gift if you spend lots of time outdoors or walking with your baby. This Disney Baby Pram Organiser by Enchanted Disney* features sweet Bambi and Aristocats prints and would look lovely on any stroller. It's the perfect size to carry all that baby needs too.

A bib

A bib is a baby must-have, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have to be a style statement! This Vintage Forest Bib from Bizzy Bee Toys* (€11) would make for a gorgeous gift for baby's 1st Christmas and will be something that they'd get a lot of use out of.

Pull-along toys

Pull-along toys are always a hit with little ones and great for using with babies during tummy time to capture their attention. This Pull Along Mary Lamb from Blossom Wood (€39.99) is absolutely adorable, a great size and would make for not just a gorgeous gift idea but also a lovely addition to any nursery.

Personalised blanket

Blankets always make great gifts for babies - I actually can't get enough of baby blankets, but a personalised one makes for even more special gift. Bloomsbury Mill offer beautiful cellular blankets (£17.99) in a variety of colours that can be embroidered with your baby's name. A lovely keepsake gift that baby will get use from and will also treasure for years to come.

Lovevery Play Kit

Lovevery play kits (€84 per kit) offer a whole host of play and sensory time for babies. We have The Charmer Kit for our baby and the toys get used every, single day. They're amazing quality and provide stage based play essentials for babies developing brains. The play kits ship every two months and provide a whole lot of playtime fun and development for babies.

Cuddly toy

A cuddly toy is always a wonderful gift for babies and even lovelier when it becomes their companion as they grow. My middle boy got his beloved teddy comforter for his first Christmas and at the age of six he's yet to leave it go. I'm loving the Bunnies By the Bay brand - available at Arnotts. Their Bun Bun Bunny Bye Bye Buddy is so adorable and would make for a perfect first Christmas gift.

I also love Steiff teddy bears and think one would make a gorgeous first Christmas gift and a lovely keepsake for baby.

What did you get your baby for their first Christmas?
