I really do love a good bargain, (I mean who doesn't?!) especially when it comes to buying things for occasions such as Christmas. I really can't justify spending big money on decorations and things to make my home look festive and pretty, especially when they'll only be on display for just one month of the year and one shop which never disappoints when it comes to finding gorgeous pieces for a pittance is Dealz, or Poundland if you're in the UK. I visit this shop quite regularly and they've really impressed me with their selection of ornaments and little knick knacks this year. Take a look at the festive loveliness I picked up...
These little tin house tea light holders immediately caught my eye. Available in off white and red they're perfect for the festive season. I love the heart shaped cutouts and the little windows on the front. I picked up two of each colour and have them on display on my mantlepiece and windowsills. I think the best thing about them is that they can actually be used all year round too - a total bargain at just €1.49 each.
I picked up three of these little star shaped ceramic dishes for putting sweets and marshmallows in on our Christmas Eve table. I think they'd be great for putting jewellery in on a dressing table or a candle display too. We'll also be using these to put goodies in on our movie nights. These were just €1.49 each too.
When I saw these little wooden house decorations I had to pick them up as I thought they matched the tin house tea light holders perfectly. Our Christmas tree has a red and gold theme this year so these fit in perfectly. These were €1.49 a pair.
Another shop which is always great for bargains is Penneys, or Primark if you're in the UK. We bought a new tree this year (a larger one) and I wanted some new decorations to go with it.
I picked up these gorgeous LED star encased lights to go around the tree and they have a lovely, calming soft white light glow to them. These were just €4 a pack and I picked up two packs.
I picked up these baubles in red and gold and they include a mixture of matte, shiny and sparkly (my favourite!) designs. These were just €3 per pack.
I also picked up packs of star, hearts and snowflake decorations, each which come in a mixture of matte, shiny and sparkly designs too apart from the snowflakes which are all sparkly. These look great on our tree and were just €2 per pack of six.
I needed baskets for keeping Tyler Lee's book advent calendar under the tree so I got this two pack of white wicker baskets from just €8 for the pair. They have a mint green lining which I didn't want but unfortunately they were sold out of the grey, Fair Isle print so I just lined the inside of them with red Christmas stockings. They look lovely under the tree and in front of the fire and will come in handy for storing other things after Christmas too.
As you can see we kitted out our tree and living room decorations for very little money. I love how how living room looks for the festive season, it's so cosy and warm with the red and gold decoration and my tea lights burning in their holders every evening. It just goes to show that you don't have to spend a fortune to celebrate in style and create a nice atmosphere.
wow i love it all specially that cute little christmas tree :)
ReplyDeleteWe also love good bargains and try to haggle to the lowest price possible. The little star-shaped ceramic dishes looked so cute. Even if it's not Christmas, I would want to use it and show it off whenever we have guests at home. It's incredible that you got it only for €1.49.

DeleteSince you are talking about bargain hunts.. here in my country, we have on place for anything cheap and affordable. We call that place Divisoria. You can get everything you need there but you have to be very careful as the place is swamped! SO many people buying there specially during this time :)
