I love reading room tour posts on other people's blogs and seeing what kind of decor they have in their home. I decided to do some of these posts myself and am beginning with a post all about my dressing table and what's on it. I live in a rented house which came furnished so unfortunately I wasn't able to bring my beautiful dressing table with me so I had to make do with the tops of two very large chest of drawers and a movable mirror, but hey, you have to make do with what you have right?!
My dressing table holds everything I use on a daily basis - one of my jewellery boxes, some of my lipstick collection, my everyday perfume which is 'Princess' by Vera Wang, my 'Snow In Love' Yankee Candle which I light before going to bed, some of my makeup brushes, two of The Sparkler from The Body Shop, one in pink and the other in bronze, Yankee Candle oil burners, my makeup storage drawers, my nail varnish collection and a basket of my everyday beauty products. I love anything to do with angels so for decoration I have an angel picture/note holder and an angel snow globe along with a lucky horse shoe decoration which came from an old pen pal from Russia, a beautiful card and a decorative light pink candle. I also place the book I'm currently reading on my dressing table so I can just pick it up for some bedtime reading, I'm currently reading 'The Bell Jar' by Sylvia Plath. Plath is one of my favourite poets so I want to read her novel and some short stories too. I've had this book for years I will finish it! Finally my Parisian themed canvas picture hangs above my dressing table. I'm a big lover of anything Parisian themed or depicting the Eiffel Tower so this was a perfect gift from my fiance.
I'm always moving my dressing table around, I get bored of something looking one way for two long. I changed it around on January 2nd and think it looks quite minimalist now but it's so tidy and I can actually find everything I need for once.
What kind of things do you keep on your dressing table?
Fiona, seriously....I'm a Sylvia Plath fan too! I've been meaning to get around to buying "The Bell Jar", will definitely add it to my reading list for this year! xo
