Everyone is rekindling their love for Cinderella at the moment with a new Cinderella film being released on March 13th (which the images to look stunning by the way!) and not only is everyone going Disney crazy again at the moment but the makeup companies are getting involved in the hype too, Essence being one. Essence revealed their Cinderella collection is February and I was delighted to get my hands on some of its gorgeous offerings last week.
For the past week I've been trying out five products from Essence's Cinderella collection, notably the Cinderella Blush 01. So This Is Love, Cinderella Eye Shadow Palette 01. It's More Than I Ever Hoped For, Cinderella Highlighter 01. The Glass Slipper, Cinderella Glitter Topper The Glass Slipper and Cinderella Lipgloss 01. Sing, Sweet Nightingale. The packaging on all the products is lovely with their little star/magic motifs and the cursive 'Cinderella' name. The blush is especially lovely as it has the fairy godmother and Cinderella's carriage on the inside of the lid. The highlighter is stunning too with roses pressed onto the powder. The only thing I'd have loved more, and it doesn't really have any effect on the actually products, is if the names on the products were more Cinderlla-ish. For example, I think the blush should have been called 'Bippety Boppity Boo' as it has the fairy godmother on the packaging, but this is just my whimsical self talking!
Cinderella Blush 01. So This Is Love is a mid-tone pink blush with coral tones. Just one swipe of this gives great colour to the cheeks so I try not to be too heavy handed with this. The blush blends really well, even though the texture was quite chalky the first few times I tried it. It gives a lovely rosy cheek which is a great look for spring. I really do love the packaging of this blush, it's so sweet and as you can see from the swatch on my hand, the shade is really pretty too.
Cinderella Eye Shadow Palette 01. It's More Than I Ever Hoped For is a really lovely little eye shadow palette with six gorgeous shades, which, in my opinion, will suit a lot of people. The shades all have shimmer in them and the three on the right hand side of the swatch picture above seem to have a metallic effect to me, especially the blue and black. I have been using the purple and blue a lot as I think the colours look great together and really compliment my blue eyes. The only colour I'm let down by is the gold/light khaki type colour which doesn't really come out very well on my eyes or when swatched but I can get over that for the price of this palette. I think the shades included in this palette are quite fitting for a Cinderella collection.
Cinderella Highlighter 01. The Glass Slipper is such a gorgeous product, not only to look at but to use too. I love the rose pattern pressed into the powder, I think it's actually quite a shame to use the product as it's so beautifully done. The highlighter is amazing, just one swipe swatch onto my hand gave the result above, which I think is great considering that Essence makeup is such a bargain. I would definitely class this highlighter as a bargain product with a high-end result, so if there is anything I can urge you to buy from the Cinderella collection it's this.
Cinderella Glitter Topper The Glass Slipper is such a gorgeous looking nail polish but I have to admit I haven't gotten around to using it yet as I'll be painting my nails before my trip away (yay!) and I didn't want them getting destroyed beforehand but I'll be sure to share a picture on Instagram of this when I do. I think the name of this 'The Glass Slipper' really is perfect as the mounds of glitter mixed with clear and purple shades really do make me think of Cinderella's glass shoes. It is stunning.
Cinderella Lipgloss 01. Sing, Sweet Nightingale is a lovely little lipgloss that is clear with flecks of pink glitter throughout. It smells like sweets and reminds me of glosses I used to wear when I was younger, I really do love that scent. The only downfall I have with this is that I find it quite hard to get out of the tube onto the wand, I don't know if it's the texture of the gloss or what but it's impossible to get out at times. Nevertheless, this is a lovely little gloss if you're looking for something that won't break the bank and the looks great on it's own or over lipstick.
Overall, I'm really impressed with Essence's Cinderella collection. The products are all good quality, especially for the prices they are and the shades available really are perfect for spring. This is a collection which Disney lovers really shouldn't miss out on, these are products which you have to add to your collection. I would recommend this products, especially the highlighter, they're perfect for creating a fresh, everyday look with a romantic feel - just like Cinderella would wear.
