Simple Ways To Brighten Up Your Home For Spring

Once the brighter and warmer days of spring arrive it's easier to feel more inspired in our days and want to make changes to our surroundings. Spring always seems to come hand in hand with the inspiration to redecorate our homes, do those DIY projects which we've been putting off forever and giving everything a new lease of life to our surroundings with fresh paint and those ever essential spring cleans.

There's no better season than spring to brighten your home up a bit, as the brighter days allow for more daylight hours to get the jobs done and the warmer days just give us the motivation to get moving with everything that needs to be done.
Here are some ways to brighten up your home for spring and hopefully they'll give some inspiration to those of you who are looking to make your space lighter, brighter and a little lovelier to be in.

Spring scents

Once the most flowery seasons of the year arrives it's always lovely to introduce some spring scents into our home. Fresh flowers and scented candles are the easiest way to do this and they make our homes all the lovelier too. Kringle Candle have some beautiful spring scents available as part of their home scents range, with seasonal flowers such as cherry blossom, wisteria and tulip (along with others) just some of the scents that you can have giving your home a heavenly spring aroma.

Fresh flowers are also beautiful to have on display in your home during spring and can really brighten up a room. Changing up your floral displays is easy to do too, as most supermarkets now offer beautiful bouquets quite cheaply.

A lick of paint

Sometimes all a room needs to seem lighter and brighter is a simple lick of paint. Whether you decide to go for a different colour, or you want to freshen up your current colour, paint is fairly inexpensive to buy. Spring is also a great time to paint as you can open all the windows on sunny days and let the walls air dry faster.
If you want to give some old furniture rather than the walls a new lease of life, then furniture paint and a bit of upcycling is a great idea.

Change up your soft furnishings

Changing up your soft furnishings is a great way to welcome new seasons into your home and it can be done quite cheaply too if you make us of discounted stores, etc.

During spring and summer you'll want to allow as much natural light into your home as possible, so opting for a lighter curtain fabrics is a great idea. You can get new cushions, etc. for relatively cheap in the likes of Primark and can re-use them year after year for the different seasons.

Having different wreaths on your front door for the seasons is a lovely idea too. Also, as I mentioned above, having scented candles lighting is a lovely way to bring seasonal scents into your home.

Move the furniture

Moving furniture is something that doesn't take much effort but which can make a big impact in a room. Moving furniture around can change the whole look of a room and create a whole different atmosphere to your space. It also has another added bonus too as it can often reveal dust and dirt you didn’t know about, helping you to give your home a thorough spring clean.

Add some plants or flowers
I love bringing the outside inside when it comes to my home decor. It's no secret that I'm a flower lover and I love having fresh flowers in my home, especially in my bedroom.
