Our Stay At The Wyatt Hotel, Westport, County Mayo

*Our stay was in collaboration with The Wyatt Hotel, however, as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

At the end of September we had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful The Wyatt Hotel in Westport, County Mayo. Mayo was a county we had never been to before and we were so excited to explore it.

We had a long three and half hour drive from Cork to Westport, but it was well worth the drive. The Wyatt Hotel is absolutely beautiful and I personally think it should be awarded more than a 3*.

The Wyatt Hotel is situated in the charming town of Westport, which is one of the best kept towns in Ireland. It was a beautiful, vibrant and fun place to visit. It was incredibly clean, with lots of interesting places to visit close by - Westport House and Croagh Patrick just to name a couple.

The hotel itself was incredibly clean and well kept, with friendly staff and beautiful decor. Reassuringly, they have Covid-19 protective measures in place throughout the hotel, such as hand sanitising stations throughout, staff wearing face masks and cleaning throughout the hotel continuously through the day.

We stayed in one of the hotel's superior rooms, which is located on the lower floor and which is wheelchair accessible.

The room had two large deluxe superking beds - which was fine for us as the boys as they don't mind sharing. There was plenty of space in the room, including a seating area. The boys had plenty of space to play with their toys while we were relaxing in the room.

There was a Nespresso machine with coffee pods in the room - something Jacek was very glad of and a TV with plenty of channels.

We had a shower room (no bath, so if you prefer a bath while you're away make sure to ask for a room with a bath) and this was quite spacious too.

We stayed at The Wyatt Hotel for two nights and on the first morning of our stay we were treated to breakfast in the Orangery. This was such a beautiful space to enjoy breakfast in and was so quiet too, with just one other table there while were there.

There was a great selection for breakfast, with cereals, pastries, granola pots with fruit compote and yogurt. You can also order off a hot food menu with breakfasts cooked to order. Breakfast was really delicious and kept us going until the afternoon while we were off exploring Achill Island.

Before dinner we took a walk around Westport, which really is such a beautiful town. We spotted so many Instagrammable places. Wesport has lots of lovely shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy too if you're in the area.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner in The Wyatt Hotel, which we also had in the Park Terrace Wine Bar and Orangery - the same place we had breakfast. The setting here was beautiful and I was told it would be a quieter spot for the children - which was what I wanted as we don't eat in restaurants very often and I was unsure how long they'd stay still, but it all went well and was a very enjoyable dinner.

Dinner was absolutely delicious and the portions were great. I had the goujons and Jacek had the mussels which he really enjoyed. The boys had sausages and goujons and again the portions were great but the star of the show for the boys was the dessert.

The children's dessert menu had some fabulous options and Tyler went for the ice-cream cookie sandwich and Beau had an Iceberger, which they both really enjoyed.

After a final comfortable night's sleep and some exploring of Wesport House and it's grounds it was time for us to leave Mayo and head for home. We also discovered the fabulous Moore Hall on the way home.

Mayo is a county with a whole lot to offer and The Wyatt Hotel makes for the perfect base for exploring it all. We'd love to return to Westport again - possibly next summer and we'd love to book into The Wyatt Hotel for another lovely and fun-filled staycation.
