This was super simple to put together. I found an old black Christmas tree in my stepfathers house and thought it would be great to re-purpose as a Halloween tree as I'd never have black as part of my Christmas decor.
A Halloween tree is a pretty non-traditional Halloween decor, but considering I decorate and Easter tree and a Christmas tree I thought why not do one for Halloween too?
I was sent a selection of Halloween decorations from Party City Ireland and these made decorating and making a lovely Halloween display so easy.
For the Halloween tree:
I decorated firstly with orange lights, then covered the tree with 'spiders web'.
I then hung some pumpkin string lights and some skull string lights - these were both LED lights. In hindsight I could have done with more of these but I think they still look great on the tree.
I used a light up hanging ghost decoration as a tree topper.
I put glittered spiders and glittered pink spiders on webs as ornaments on the tree.
I also used a 'Happy Halloween' banner on the tree.
I sent the children out to collect leaves and popped them amongst the spiderweb on the tree and mantel.
I love how the tree turned out! It was so simple to put together and the kids loved it!
For the mantelpiece:
I used 'spiders web' to cover the top of the mantel and stretched some to hang down for an aged look.
I put the leaves on the spiderweb on the mantel too to create a haunted forgotten house look.
I decorate with orange and black fans which I stuck to the wall with white tack.
I used a decorative 'boo!' balloon as the centerpiece for the mantel and I also had Halloween balloons underneath the Halloween tree.
I finished the mantel with a ghost tealight holder I already had and bunches of orange roses.
I also popped some leaves on the end of the fireplace and a pumpkin basket filled with Halloween treats.
I love how it all looks and so do the kids. I'd like to add more orange lights to the fireplace and some pumpkins as we get closer to Halloween.
I think we'll have to have a Halloween tree every year now!
Oh wow this is class Fiona. I would have felt very homey in your house over the Halloween season. lol I love my Halloween decor.
