Factors You Need To Consider When Buying A New Mattress ♥

A mattress is one of the most important things you can buy for your home.

While most people focus on getting a comfy bed, the mattress is the item that makes it so great. By getting a product that is suitable for your body type not only are you preventing future injuries and relaxing your back, but you’re also able to get a better sleep.

Unfortunately, buying a mattress isn’t as easy as it seems. There are lots of factors that have to be considered if you wish to buy an ideal product. You can’t simply go to a store and lay down on a couple of mattresses in order to decide whether you like one of them.

No, the process is much more complicated especially if we consider the long-term importance of the item. Even though there are lots of online mattress reviews that can help you out, here are some things you need to consider when purchasing a new mattress.

Price
Mattresses are not cheap items. This is why learning more about them in advance is a very important step in making the right decision. Unfortunately, the price tag doesn’t always help. Some products will be severely overpriced and might not even be suitable for your body. Ideally, you should be prepared to invest at least €800 for a king sized mattress, while avoiding products that cost €400 or less for a king size.

Size
Luckily, when it comes to size, you don’t have to think too much about it; the product simply has to fit the frame of your bed.

Support
For people with a bad back, support is the main factor to be considered when it comes to mattresses.

Basically, a mattress has to provide a quality support making sure that the surface is always flat. This way, there will be less pressure on vital points on your back. Quality support usually depends on the material from which a mattress is made. Softer materials usually provide worse support and are less likely to degrade faster. On the other hand, innerspring mattresses are pretty stable and for the most part, don’t lose their supportive properties over time.

Quality
Quality of a product refers to its ability to last for a long time. While material being used is usually the dominant factor here, making certain mattresses go out of function quicker, you also have to consider the brand and the specific product. Given how expensive mattresses can be, it is always better to get something that will last longer.

Firmness
There are 4 levels of firmness: very soft, soft, firm, very firm. Most people think they can decide on their own what kind of firmness they need. This isn’t entirely true as you have to get a mattress with a particular firmness based on your sleeping position.

Thickness
Mattresses usually have three types of thickness. They vary from 5 inches to 10 inches and finally, to 15 inches. Choosing the right thickness depends on your body type and in particular, weight. So, bigger people will need bigger thickness and vice versa.

Anti-allergic properties
Some people have very strong allergic reactions. So, when purchasing a mattress, it is much better too but an item that has anti-allergic properties. Memory foam and latex and the best choice in this case.

Temperature
Certain materials such as memory foam tend to get heated quite quickly. People sleeping on such a mattress are more likely to wake up in sweat. This is especially troublesome for people who have light sleep as it is. So, make sure to find a mattress that properly dissipates heat if you’re easy to wake up.

Adaptability
Besides firmness, important factor for your back is adaptability. A mattress should follow your body movement and move with you. Items that have a high level of adaptability are a preferred choice for people with a bad back.
