How To Design the Perfect Playroom For Your Kids ♥

Every child daydreams about the perfect playroom. A comfortable, bright room jam-packed with toys, games and crafts to suit every child. A playroom is the space where your child can really let loose with their imagination and be themselves. The room is a space for them to be free with their creativity and make anything that they want to make.

Creating the perfect playroom for your children is going to be based on their personality type and their interests, but it’s also a good idea if you want to have your children’s toys in one place in the house without overtaking their bedroom or the lounge.

When your children need a space exclusive to them, you’ve got to get your thinking cap on. It has to be functional and light, educational and yet creative and a place for them to just allow their imagination to run off with itself. So, how can you ensure that you’ve created the place of their dreams, one that is easy to clean?!

Think colours
The first step in the quest for the perfect playroom is the colour scheme. This is largely going to be determined by the ages and personality of your children. Children need to be stimulated, so think about going for a neutral wall and making all the accessories in the room as bright as possible. Try not to go for a specific theme, because if your children and their tastes change in six months, it’s going to be a very expensive change. It’s far easier to have a playroom with interchangeable accessories than it is to have one that you have to redecorate every year. You could use garlands and bunting in rainbow colours to suit everyone - it looks great, too.

Clutter and cleaning
As the person who is going to be tidying and cleaning said playroom until the children are old enough, you need to invest in great storage solutions and shop in the laminate flooring sale at Factory Direct Flooring. The reason is because you need a durable floor that will endure paint spills and glitter explosions with ease. It’s not easy to get those things out of carpet, so you need to get them out of laminate instead. Children have a lot of stuff, so you need to shop around for the best storage solutions to make life easier for you all.

Get creative
Above all, your children need to be allowed to make messes in their room. Have a makeshift gallery with some clothes line twine and some pegs, to hang wet artwork on. Add a table and chairs for colouring in and have all kinds of stationery to allow them as much creative licence as possible. You could even add a chalk paint wall, so that they can have a dedicated space for their artwork.

This playroom could change your life, allowing you to nurture your children and their imaginations with ease. You can do a lot for your kids, simply by giving them some room.
