A Shabby Chic Inspired Garden ♥
Now that spring has finally made an appearance I've started thinking about how I'd like us to use the garden in the warmer months, what flowers I'd like to have growing out there this year and what outdoor toys I'd like to invest in for my sons.
I've spoken about my dream cottage garden before and these are the bits and pieces which I'd love to have in it to make the perfect, pretty space for my family and I to enjoy.
I want the garden to be an extension of our living space, a place to enjoy on sunny days (even though they may be rare!) - whether it be reading a book, having a family BBQ or doing a spot of bird-watching (we love to see our little robin visitor pottering about).
Last year I invested in some shabby chic inspired pots in blue and soft pink and this year I'd like to expand on the shabby chic theme with some fun and whimsical accessories, as well as some new garden furniture, some pretty lighting and some wooden outdoor toys for my little ones to play with.
No garden would be complete without some garden chairs or loungers and this blue garden chair reminds me of that perfect shabby chic blue which I just love and a set of these in our garden would be perfect for lounging on and reading our books on warm, sunny days.
I also love this hanging chairs (my Dad and his girlfriend have one and it is so comfy!). It was great fun to sit on and with some shabby chic inspired cushions (which I have plenty of!) it would fit perfectly into the garden.
Lighting is something I really want to introduce to our garden and it would be a lovely addition to the shabby chic theme I'm going for. There are some great Groupon lighting deals at the moment and the fairy lights are just magical! They'd be perfect for decorating trees or fences with and making a beautiful outdoor space to enjoy.
As I said, we love to welcome little birdie visitors to our garden and the handmade pink shabby chic inspired bird house is just too sweet to not include in this post. The white picket fence is just darling!
No shabby chic garden would be complete without a playhouse and how sweet is this wooden playhouse pictured above? With it's white windows complete with window boxes, a central stable door complete with heart cut out and letterbox and it's blue colour, it's the perfect addition to any shabby chic lovers garden. This is the stuff that garden playtime dreams are made of! It is a little on the expensive side but a girl can dream, right?
For quirky finishing touches I've stumbled across the teacup and saucer bird feeders, which I am absolutely in love with! I think they have a real 'Alice in Wonderland' whimsical feel to them and that's something which I love.
If you want to go all out with the whimsy I've also found the teapot bird feeders to complete the set.
I also love the beautiful double tier tea light chandelier which I thought would be beautiful placed on a tree above an outdoor dining space. It has such a romantic charm to it and would be gorgeous for creating a soft light when enjoying a glass of wine or two outdoors on a warm summers night.
Are you a fan of the shabby chic theme? Would you have any of these pieces in your own garden?
