My Weight Loss Journey | 1 Month, One Stone Down ♥

Four weeks into my current weight loss mission and I've done it, I've lost the first stone. At first I thought the scales were just being a bit dodgy, but nope, they've definitely shifted and I couldn't be happier that all my healthy eating and working out efforts have paid off.

To be honest, I'm surprised that I've stuck with the healthy eating side of things for this long. Preparing meals from scratch is a completely new concept to me and although I'll always miss the convenience of just taking a packet out of the freezer, popping it on a tray and letting it cook, I know that the food I'm now putting into my body and taking the time to prepare, is doing me the world of good.

The foods I'm eating are giving me so much natural energy that I no longer feel the need to take supplements loaded with caffeine. My skin looks better, I feel better within myself and I no longer feel bloated and horrible - jarred sauces used to be the worst for causing me this. It's amazing how much of a positive impact healthy eating can have on your body in such a short space of time. Now if I could just get the kids to eat vegetables...

I still try and go for my daily walk with Beau every morning after I drop Tyler to playschool, although I'm finding that walk much harder than the gym. I don't know if it's because I'm outside, battling the elements (it's absolutely freezing here!) and becoming a bit bored of our usual route, but trying to motivate myself to go for that walk is harder than going to the gym and doing an almost two-hour workout.

I still do it though, not just for me but for Beau too as I know he needs the fresh air. Plus, I love having him involved with my daily exercises - pushing him up the hill in his buggy is one of the best cardio workouts I can do. Also, I love how he spurs me on to jog - he looks back at me with a cheeky, excited smile on his face and loves when I take off running down the hill. It's like having my very own little cheerleader!

I can now run further than I ever have before - an one new perk I have four weeks into this current weight loss journey of mine, is that my trousers don't roll down over my unsightly tummy anymore because it's a lot flatter than it was a month ago. This for me is an achievement within itself because I never thought I'd get rid of my horrible stomach, but I am, slowly but surely.

I've been going to the gym five or six times a week and I love it. It's not only a space where I can work on my body goals, but it also gives me some head space too. Since joining the gym on January 23rd I've been a lot happier and I think the fact that I enjoy going there speaks for itself.

I've changed my workout around a little bit, having researched what machines allow you to lose the most calories and I now begin my workout with cardio on the stepper machine, moving onto the bike (I alternate between the high and low bikes), then moving onto the weight machines and then finishing with more cardio on the cross trainer. I need to start doing the rowing machine more as this is the only thing really missing from my workout - I do 1000m each time.

My main problem areas are my arms and stomach, so I'm doing all I can to tone these up on the weight machines, whilst burning calories off on the cardio machines. I think it's good to have a total body workout but to also focus on my problem areas, so hopefully I'll get some good results in the next few months.

I'm one stone down in one month and I'm excited to see what I can achieve this time next month too.
