Rise and Shine for Childline | Cheerios Childline Breakfast 16th-22nd October 2017 ♥

 *This is a collaborative post

As a mother, it's important for me to let my boys know that they can talk to me whenever they want, whether it be about something serious happening in their lives or just something that's been on their minds. Sadly though, there are some children in Ireland who feel as though they have no one to talk to, no one to share their fears, troubles or problems with and it's absolutely heartbreaking.

This is where charities such as Childline are invaluable. Childline is a 24-hour listening service for children. Childline is an outlet for children to share their worries and fears and although some children may be too afraid to talk, Childline is there to give them hope and to let them know they're not alone.

Cheerios Childline Breakfast takes place from October 16th-22nd this year. ISPCC Childline are calling on the nation to host a Cheerios Childline Breakfast to raise vital funds for Ireland's only 24-hour listening service for children.

By the time we get up for breakfast in the morning, Childline has been taking calls throughout the night from vulnerable children who need someone to talk to. Over 1,000 children contact Childline everyday - this number astounded me. Children can contact Childline via phone, text and webchat, making someone accessible for them no matter how they feel comfortable in talking.

Over 75% of Childline's calls take place outside of office hours and the ISPCC needs to raise almost 85% of funding through the public for it's Childline service.

Whether it's family, playschool, creche, community group, school, business or organisation, Cheerios and Childline are encouraging everyone to join in and register to host a breakfast to help support children who need the continual support of Childline.

When you register you will receive a fundraising pack and portion packs of Low Sugar Oat Cheerios to help with organising your breakfast.

You can register today at www.childlinebreakfast.ie or text RISE to 50300 to donate €4 (ISPCC Childline will receive a minimum of €3.25. Service provider like charity).

I have donated to the cause myself. It's quick and simple to do but can make such a huge difference to Childline and indeed to the children it helps to support.

The number for the Childline helpline is 076 6805278

Childline who wish to contact Childline can phone the freephone number 1800666666 or text 'talk' to 50101.

Please help to be part of every call they answer.
