A Perfect Goodbye To Autumn ♥

November 1st marks the beginning of winter for me. I think it's only Irish people who see the seasons differently, but it's what I was taught at school and it's actually perfect weather and solstice wise so I have no idea why we're the only ones who follow this calendar, but for me, November, December and January are winter.

The walkway I've affectionately named 'Autumn Lane'
There are spur of the moment days when Jacek and I decide to abandon everything we're doing, scoop up the kids, get everyone and everything into the car and just drive to a beautiful place to get some fresh air and get photographing, Saturday was one of these days. I love these days so much, it's so lovely to have a partner who's interested in photography just as much as I am, and now it seems as though our eldest is keen to embrace the art too, yay!
We headed to one of our favourite places, Blarney Castle, a place we frequent at least once each season and it's the perfect place to spark lots of photography inspiration. It's also the place where I had my first pictures taken with both boys and we were able to get some more on this visit too, I think we may have to make this a seasonal thing!

The lawns were covered in blankets of fallen leaves and my boys took delight in these, Beau laughing as his brother shuffled along and covered him with them.

Tyler was adamant that he was going to have his picture taken as he lay in the leaves too, although not alongside his brother, he wanted to make sure the spotlight was on him and funnily enough it was.

This day out was exactly what we all needed. Everyone is just over being sick, although poor little Beau is still struggling with a cough at night, and I find that fresh air always helps to blow off the cobwebs and scare away the germs.

This was one of a handful of days out where Tyler didn't run off, he was happy to walk with us and get his picture taken. This little boy of mine is growing up and I love the person he's becoming. I find that he always gets a hard time because he's misunderstood, but he's a happy soul and being with his daddy is one of his favourite things right now, so days like this with his dad make him incredibly happy.

I was very happy too, walking around these beautiful gardens with my (almost!) new baby and my eldest up on his daddy's shoulders, I felt incredibly lucky and a sense of calm, that I haven't felt for quite some time now, overcame me. I was happy and our day couldn't have been more perfect goodbye to autumn.

As everyone knows, photography is one of my biggest passions in life, so I'll say no more, but will leave you with this captures by myself and Jacek.

Tyler's first photo taken on my DSLR camera, I think it's amazing for a first try. Well done angel man.

    1. Thank you so much. Us Irish are definitely right because our way mid-summer is actually mid-summer, not end of summer ;) x
