Our Easter Weekend & Some Reflection ♥

This Easter hasn't been a very eventful or great one for us if I'm honest. Jacek and I have been feeling quite unwell, we're putting it down to a viral infection as they seem to be going around a lot at the moment and we have no idea what else it could be. He's also been working, only having Saturday off - which I spent in bed recovering, so it hasn't been a lovely family Easter like I hoped for.

However, it hasn't been all bad. Thankfully Tyler Lee escaped the sickness which has otherwise consumed us and he's been really happy this weekend. I was so glad that we got to do our annual woodland Easter egg hunt with him earlier in the week before we became ill and strangely enough, even though he has been given and gifted lots of chocolate treats, he's been shunning them in favour of apples and strawberries!

The only Easter-like things I've managed to do this weekend were to make a no-sew DIY Easter sock bunny out of one of Tyler Lee's old socks, some rice, string, ribbon and marker. I'm not the craftiest of people at all but I was rather pleased with how it turned out and my boy loved it, which was the most important thing. The other thing was that Jacek and I gave Tyler Lee his Easter basket, which he also loved, the books included shall be read to him and bedtime.

I feel quite sad that this will be our last Easter as a family of three and we haven't done anything remotely special for it, just like St. Patrick's Day this year too, we didn't even take any pictures for that... I just wish we didn't feel so ill and that all the sickness can just stop now, it seems to be going on for quite an age now with no real end in sight and it's just exhausting.

We're trying to make the most of our last few weeks as a family of three but it's hard when someone is constantly sick and there's always so much to do, we still haven't cleared out the room for the nursery or begun painting! I'm trying to be laid back about it all but Jacek is getting quite anxious about it now.

I guess you can say that for the past few occasions I've wanted to be immersed in the moment with my family, rather than always being the one behind the camera, even though I really do love trying to capture all our memories on camera...

Maybe snuggling on the couch under a blanket with my little love was, after all, the most perfect thing we could do this weekend, I love those toddler cuddles which seem to be in such abundance these days. Easter is about loved ones and I'm blessed to have mine with me.

Luckily I did capture some lovely pictures of my boy and in his sweet little yellow Peter Rabbit outfit too, big yays for that still fitting before it's passed onto the next baby and although I failed in getting a picture of Tyler Lee with a lamb this year, I did capture some lovely shots of him with Tilly the dog, who he is smitten with, as you can see from the pictures.
