Today my little monkey moozle is two and half, I can't really believe it, time has gone by so quickly with him and it doesn't seem that long ago since I was writing his one and a half year update. Life with this little boy is like a rollercoaster and just like the rhyme, which I'll change to a male version - "There was a little boy who had a little curl right in the middle of his forehead, and when he was good he was very very good and when he was bad he was horrid" - this sums him up perfectly. Most of the time he's as good as gold but other times he can really test my patience and the worst thing is, he knows exactly how to wind me up. He'll jump on me, start hitting and if Jacek and I say no he then starts to hit himself, hopefully this is just a phase!
He's a boy in every sense of the word. He's rowdy, loves climbing on things (especially the furniture!), is super noisy, is always getting dirty even when he's just been changed and is a hurricane of activity all the time. He doesn't like sitting down for long, he likes to keep active and I swear, as soon as he's old enough I'm signing him up for athletics and sports so that he can put that energy to good use!
He has the best, most fun and loving personality. He's so funny, loves to laugh a lot and has an infectious little giggle. His teachers at school tell me that he's the funniest little boy going, everyone loves him. The older he gets the more he loves to cuddle and he comes into my bed every morning for a cuddle and a kiss. This morning he came in for his cuddle and ended up going back to sleep in my arms, it was the sweetest thing and hopefully the start of a new ritual. I can't get enough of the toddler cuddles and kisses or 'love' as we call it, it's so funny, when Tyler Lee is giving kisses he makes a 'mwah' sound now and everything.
He loves animals, especially cats and we watch lots of cat vines together on YouTube, he loves them! He also loves cars, tractors and dinkys, there's so many of the things dotted around our house. Tyler Lee also has an obsession with the ironing board, hoover and washing machine, he loves to copy what his daddy and I do around the house and the first thing he says to me in the morning is - "Tyler ironing, wooooo". While this is all very cute I do wish he'd just relax and enjoy being a child, he gets so worked up about the cleaning, sometimes I wish he'd just play with his toys.
We haven't begun potty training yet, he's just not interested and doesn't mind having a dirty bum, he never lets me know when he does. Hopefully we can work on this soon. He learns new words and names every week but still isn't speaking as much as I hoped he would be at this age. I'm not worried though, the boy knows everything!
What Tyler Lee can do at two and a half:
Count to ten in Irish and English
Speak words in Irish and English
Read words and symbols and know what they represent
Climb up on high things and go up and down stairs by his own
Sing songs
Complete puzzles
Understand everything I say
Point out people in pictures
What Tyler Lee has done at two and a half:
Been on three holidays - Portugal and Jersey Channel Islands (twice, soon to be three times)
Visited five Irish counties and seen the sights and castles of them all
Been in two magazines and two newspapers
Made it to the top of Blarney Caslte
Completed playgroup and is starting junior pre-school next month - eek!
Had only one haircut
Tyler Lee is such a joy (most of the time!) and the most beautiful, kind, loving,
friendly and affectionate little boy I could have ever asked for. I am
so proud to call him my son. He is my little angel man - my nickname for him and every day I spend
with him is such a blessing, I'm so glad I'm a stay at home mother. The next update will be in six months when he is three (sob!) and I wonder just how much he'll have changed.
