My Favourite Hair Products For Tyler Lee & I ♥

My hair has always been something I've been quite passionate about. I try to keep it in the best condition I possibly can but years of bleaching have left it quite damaged. As of late I've been trying out some new hair products, not only on my own hair but on Tyler Lee's too - those gorgeous curls take a lot of maintaining! Here are the products which we've been using the past few months and which have worked wonders for our hair.

Johnson's Baby Spray Conditioner. This product is supposed to be for detangling children's hair for combing but I actually use this as a styling product for Tyler Lee's hair, just spraying it on and letting it dry in. It keeps his curls from getting dry and leaves them looking tight and bouncy too.

Lush Sea Spray. This is a product which I fell in love with in store. It smells gorgeous, has a real beachy feel to it and it's the perfect product to keep Tyler Lee's curls looking groomed and tight. I simply spray this over his hair and leave it dry in and it makes his curls look lovely. This is quite expensive, it's over the €12 mark which is a bit steep for something I'm using on my two year old's hair but it is such a lovely product and the smell alone would make me buy it again.

AirMotion Pro Hairbrush*.  Trying to find a hair brush to go through my knotty hair or Tyler Lee's curls has been something of a challenge to say the least. We recently got the chance to try out the AirMotion Pro Hairbrush and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by it. It's the first detangling brush I've used with a handle and this makes such a big difference as it's much easier to use and keep a grip on. The brush has bristles in three different lengths and diameters which work together to get through hair of any type. The bristles are flexible which is great for working through tangles gentle and not tugging on the hair at all, in fact, when using this brush it gives a lovely massage to the scalp and it feels great. Gentle is the keyword for this brush, it's perfect for using on Tyler Lee's hair, the soft, flexible bristles don't irritate his scalp, it doesn't tug or pull out his curls and he even loves to brush his hair with it himself. The AirMotion Pro Hairbrush is £11.95 and I think that's a great and reasonable price for such a great hairbrush.

Lush Marilyn. This is a pre-wash treatment for hair and it's especially great for blonde hair as it has camomile in it and keeps blonde tones from getting brassy and dull. I use this on both mine and Tyler Lee's hair and it has made our blonde hair really look beautiful - especially on the tip of his curls where his hair is lightest. This product is quite watery making it difficult to get out of the pot and onto you hair but once rinsed off it leaves hair feeling silky smooth and in great condition. I love this product!

OGX Anti-Breakage Keratin Oil. My hair seems to be always knotty, simply from always having it down. I always use a hair oil after washing my hair so that I can get my hairbrush through it. I've gone through so many hair oils over the years but my favourite at the moment is this OGX weightless oil and when it says weightless it really does mean it! I spray this onto my hair and it leaves no oily residue at all. It smells really lovely and makes it easier for me to brush my hair.

Lush Jason and the Argan Oil*. This is the first dry shampoo bar I have ever used from Lush and I really love it. You simply scrub it all over your hair, massage and rinse and it leaves hair smelling lovely and in such great condition due to the argan oil infused within it. It foams up really well and is ideal for washing Tyler Lee's hair as no liquid or bubbles get into his eyes.

Pantene Pro-V Dry Shampoo Volume Booster. I love dry shampoo, it's one of my must-have products and this one by Pantene is amazing. It gives great volume to my hair as well as hold so it's amazing for styling. Once again this product smells lovely too which is always nice to have in an everyday product.

Lush Big Sea Salt Shampoo. This is probably my favourite shampoo from Lush and I'm so glad I began using it. It's made up of grains of sea salt which leave hair feeling super soft and looking shiny. It smells amazing and foams up great. A little bit of Big goes a long way too meaning that it's fantastic value for money. I read in Lush that you'll feel like a mermaid after using this shampoo and I really do, the volume it gives to my hair is great and it really does keep my hair looking in great condition.

Kérastase Resistance Ciment Thermique*. I can't rave to you enough about this product. I use this anytime I blow-dry my hair and it has really helped to get my hair back into good condition and I think it really has helped to promote hair growth for me too. This has a gorgeous citrus scent and the product goes into the hair great and leaves it looking so shiny and perfectly blow-dried when styled. My tube is almost gone and I need to repurchase this, I really love it!

These are the products I have been using on mine and Tyler Lee's hair lately and they really have worked amazingly for us. We have recently switched over to Lush's haircare products which is why I am featuring so many of them in this post. I like the fact that I'm using mostly natural products on my own hair and on Tyler Lee's too and even though they are all slightly more expensive products I think they are totally worth the money.

Do you use any of these products?

  14. When kiddo was younger she had these tight ringlet curls and her hair was really long. We went through so many bottles of that Johnsons spray conditioner. Now she is 10 and we still keep a bottle handy for those days when her hair is out of control.

  16. We've never tried using any of those products. We've been using the same hair products for years. Hubby has his own shampoo, I have mine and our son has his too. :)

  17. I could never get past the whole concept of 'dry shampoo' for myself. I do not use any of the above products because I've found that the Garnier Fructis line best accommodates my hair needs.

  20. I keep my hair regimen pretty simple and it's done well for me for years. I wash warm, rinse cool, let my hair air dry. I rotate shampoos. I use conditioner. I never brush or comb my hair while it's wet. I use a coconut oil for my scalp 3 times a week.
