Happy Easter from me and mine to you and yours! I've had a rather stressful day if I'm honest, my toddler won't stop running away when we go to open spaces and it gives me fierce anxiety! He also wasn't very interested in the Easter egg hunt that his father and I lovingly put together for him, but alas, the sun was shining and we had a lovely afternoon in the end. You can never be unhappy or stressed for too long when the sun is out, right?!
We went to a favourite haunt of ours, Fota House and Gardens, where we had enjoyed the Alice in Wonderland Easter egg hunt earlier on in the week. Jacek and I set up a pretty little Easter egg hunt for our boy amidst the daffodils and primroses, he was all Easter egg hunted out though and opted to run around instead, finding a great play place in the shadow of a very mossy tree. It was so lovely to see the gardens all in bloom and the sun shining gloriously too, it made for a perfect Easter atmosphere and a lovely afternoon indeed. There's no better place to spend a sunny afternoon than sitting on the grass in Fota Gardens, the place is just beautiful and I love all the colour this time of year.
After a spot of lunch we went to visit my stepdad, Tyler Lee's grandad, where my boy made a new friend in the form of one of his grandad's spring lambs and believe me when I say that my stepdad is very passionate about his lambs and sheep - he never stops talking about them! This little lamb didn't have a name yet so I think Esther is just perfect for her, being that we met her on Easter Sunday and all. At first Tyler Lee wasn't too sure of his fluffy friend but in the end he gave her a cuddle and a little tap on the end with his finger - she was so cute baa-ing at him!
I was so delighted that the sun was shining for the day as it gave me an excuse to dress Tyler Lee in his lemon coloured Peter Rabbit shortalls (me and my Beatrix Potter obsession!) - the perfect little outfit for Easter! I think he looked rather adorable, there's something so sweet about little boys wearing yellow I think. The second picture in this bunch totally reminds me of The Sound of Music, it looks like he's skipping through the field, such a little doll, well, a pup of a doll after all his tantrums earlier on in the day! I'm so glad that we all managed to have a lovely, relaxing day in the end, I hope that the sunshine continues on, as I said, it just makes everyone so much happier.
I think it really was the perfect Easter Sunday - loved ones, chocolate, flowers, lambs and sunshine, what more could you want?
