Tyler Lee's Easter Basket | Peter Rabbit, Books & Bunnies ♥

Last year I began the tradition of putting together and Easter basket for my son to enjoy on Easter Sunday. This year I have been very organised and have the basket completed, bar one last minute purchase which I don't think will arrive on time as it's coming from America, but nonetheless I love the contents of Tyler Lee's Easter basket this year and I hope he'll love everything that's included in it too.

This basket was relatively cheap for me, I think I only spent about €20 of my own money buying things for it as I had vouchers and credit available for the websites which I sourced most things from. This years Easter basket has a distinctive theme - rabbits! I've been sharing my lifelong love of Peter Rabbit and all things Beatrix Potter with my boy and luckily he loves them too.

I included lots of books in this years basket and I got them all, bar The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit for super cheap. My thrifty self searched through the shelves of local charity shops to find some Easter themed books and I got the Snuggle Bunny book for just 50c and the Lamb's Easter Surprise book for €1. I searched on Amazon for some cheap Peter Rabbit books as I really couldn't justify paying full price for some of those books and I found some great bargains picking up the Happy Easter, Peter!, Peter Rabbit Easter Egg Hunt and Peter Rabbit Easter Surprise for just 1p each! The Peter Rabbit Easter Surprise book is brand new too, bargain! Of course, there would be no point in celebrating Easter without remembering what it's really all about so I got my boy the Baby's First Easter Story book. We will be reading this in the week up to Easter and it was only €1.49 in my local Dealz store.

My boy loves bunnies, just like his mammy, so I thought it'd be nice to include a new bunny cuddly toy for him in the basket. I love when soft toys have long, dangley limbs, it's so sweet to see little ones run around with soft toys like this, so I got my boy a Minene Mi Snuggle Bertie Bunny from House of Fraser's action figures and toys section. He's really sweet in his vintage style, baby blue corduroy dungaree and is super soft too, perfectly for cuddling up to or using as a pillow - which I can see my boy doing with him in his cot. I just wish his ears were longer as I love bunny soft toys with long ears! He was only £10 which I think is a great price for the sweet little fellow. I also got him a new Peter Rabbit plush, he has a few already but they're smaller than this one and this one is so soft and his blue coat is the perfect colour to match the illustrations of the book, so sweet!

Tyler Lee loves Sylvanian Families, something I'm delighted about as I always wanted them as a child but they were far too expensive. When my mother and brother jokingly got me the nursery bus and celebration cat family for Christmas Tyler Lee took a shine to them and hasn't stopped playing with them since. It's so lovely to watch him play with them, he gets to experience what I always wanted in my own childhood! I got him the chocolate rabbit family to go in his new Ice Cream Van and Bluebell Seven Seater Car, I know he'll just love having another little Sylvanian Family to play with. The Sylvanian Families Ice Cream Van is super cute as it actually has all the accessories you need to make little ice creams for your family.

I also picked up a little soft Peter Rabbit ball which I thought my boy would have great fun playing with outdoors in the spring and summer - although he much prefers handball to football and this little ball is perfect for that.

The gift I got Tyler Lee and which I don't think will arrive on time is this beautiful handmade Peter Rabbit comforter from Scarlett's Cozy Cottage on Etsy. I actually found this through Instagram and just had to get it for him, it's so sweet and I know he'll especially love the minky side of it as he loves that material against his face. Isn't it beautiful?

Of course, no Easter basket would be complete without some chocolate so I got Tyler Lee a Milky Bar Easter egg, two Kinder Surprises, some white chocolate lollies and a white chocolate bunny from Aldi. These will have to be rationed out as I know my little chocolate lover would gobble them all up in one go if he could!

  6. What a lovely idea and what a great way to introduce Tyler to the wonderful world of books. I'm so glad that you advocate using charity/pound shops for presents. It baffles me how some new parents can lash out hundreds of pounds on prezzies when the child will probably get more fun out of the cardboard box they're packed in!

  7. Are you hiding this one in the garden or are you going to give it to him?
I have an Easter basket ready to be filled but I will hide it in the garden for Matthew to find it.
