Birthday Gift Ideas For My Toddler ♥

It's my baby boys 2nd birthday in just over two weeks, I guess I can't call hi
m a baby an longer, sob! I was quite stuck on what to get him for his special day, as with his birthday being so close to Christmas it's hard to find some lovely, unique gifts that he hasn't received before. I have been looking online for shops and ranges not readily available in Ireland and the UK - where I usually get his gifts from, and I've stumbled across the fabulous Family Nation, an e-boutique which offers a large selection of clothing, toys and essentials for little ones.

Family Nation was formed in 2011by parents Emilia and Aidan Cox, the site is a global reference point for contemporary parenting. After working for 10 years with the United Nations and travelling across over 60 countries between them (wow, right?!), the pair then decided to create a quality online boutique that would capture the cultural kaleidoscope of the varied communties they had been a part of - I absolutely love their ethos behind the site as I'm all for teaching my son about different cultures from around the world. Family Nation has a strong eco-friendly focus when it comes to the brands they stock. All of their ranges are made from environmentally friendly materials from ecologically supportive companies and I have to admit I love this fact.

I absolutely love the Pebble Once Upon A Time Rainbow Toy - Fairtrade and think it would make a lovely gift for my soft toy loving boy. It's not overly-girly like other unicorn soft toys I've seen in the past and I love the fact that it's fair trade too.

I have gotten my boy a teepee as his main gift for his birthday already and was looking for some star lights or star decorations to add to the wooden poles, I sadly couldn't find any in the shops in my city but I've found this super sweet Engel Everlasting Stars Garland Blue - Glow in the Dark on the Family Nation site. I love these and think they'd be the perfect decoration for my boy's teepee. I think it's fab that they glow in the dark too, he'd love seeing that once the lights go off in his room at night.

My son loves seeing things drop or fall down (don't ask me why!) so I think these GG*&Kiko+ Colourful Tanabata Star Dominoes would be perfect for him. I love how bright and colourful they are and the fact that some are numbered would help him with his counting too, so far he knows one, two and three.

My son has a thing for blankets, he can't go to sleep at night without a fleece type one being by his face and he loves cuddling up to them when he's looking through his book so I think this Fabulous Goose Bambi Blanket would be the perfect gift for him. I love the design, it's adorable with the little Bambi fawn print and the great and white is my favourite colour combination for boys.

My son is beginning to properly learn his shapes and large from small so I think this Wooden Story Rainbow Wooden Stacker  would be a lovely gift for him. As a family we're a big fan of wooden toys, they last a lifetime so they really do make the perfect gift. I love the bright colours of this stacker too, the rainbow design perfectly matches the theme of his room.

I think this GG*&Kiko+ Machi London Tiny Town might quite possibly be the most adorable and unique toy I've seen in a long time. My boy is just beginning to embrace imaginative play and loves his little dinky cars so I think this would be the perfect play set for him. It comes with two chalk boards that your little one can draw on and some key London landmarks as well as a red bus and black cab, I love it!

My son loves cats, he's obsessed with them and says "miaow" every time he sees one. He also loves his nightlights and has three at the moment but there's always room for more. This Zzzoolight Cat Night Light is just adorable and I know he'd love it. It changes colour and would really help him drift off to sleep.

I think this Pebble Crocheted White Camper Van - Fair Trade is just adorable! I love all the details this has and for someone who's a bit of a hippy like me I'd love to see my son toting this around.

Finally, my son loves Mickey Mouse and is just getting an interest for Disney movies so I think this Disney e Atsuyo et Akiko Mickey Organic Cotton T-Shirt would be super sweet on him. It would look adorable on him in the summer with a little pair of shorts.

I'm so impressed with the range of items Family Nation has to offer and think the pieces listed above would make perfect gifts for my little one. They also have a fabulous range of new baby items too, I love all the star print things they have to offer. I love the uniqueness of the brands Family Nation has to offer and everything looks fantastic quality, quite quirky and very special indeed.

What's your favourite gift idea from the ones I've featured above?

  4. Fantastic ideas, it's hard to pick one because everything's too cute. The stars garland and the unicorn are my favourites, maybe because I'm a huge unicorn lover myself. :)) And I'm sure he would love seeing the stars glowing when you turn the lights off at night. :)

  13. Ha! This reminded me of me of my daughter. She used to love to see things drop down or fall too. In fact her first word was 'uh oh' while she was tossing something deliberately from her crib. :)
