Christmas Gift Ideas For Toddlers ♥

The festive season is quickly looming, soon the season of giving shall be upon us and Santa will be leaving gifts for little ones on Christmas Eve, so it's time to get organised. I've put together an idea guide of some amazing and suitable gifts for toddlers this Christmas and most of the things included are toys and gifts which my own son shall be receiving this year.

Toy Kitchen
This is an amazing gift for toddlers as they're at the age where they love to role-playing and copy what the adults around them are doing, so why not nuture that interest in getting them a toy kitchen? This is the perfect gift for boys and girls alike and will provide hours of fun. You can get play kitchens in a variety of styles, materials and colours too so there's bound to be one to suit every budget and taste. I love the Tildo Country Play Kitchen, a wooden, baby blue kitchen which is absolutely beautiful to look at. The great thing about this particular kitchen too is that it comes with three utensils, salt and pepper shakers and a washing-up liquid bottle, items you usually have to buy separately. You can find it here and other wooden toy shops online as well as independent retailers.

Play Food & Kitchen Accessories
Carrying on from the toy kitchen gift idea what better way to further enhance your little ones playtime experience then with a kitchen stocked with play food and all the accessories to boot. I am particularly in love with the Le Toy Van Honeybake range of kitchen accessories which come in the most gorgeous colours and which are wooden but cheaper alternatives can be found in toy shops such as Smyths. Velcro cutting food is also a great toy to have stocked in your little ones kitchen and although some sets can be quite expensive I've found very cheap sets here. Once again, cheaper, plastic alternatives can be found in large toy shops. All of these toys will bring little ones hours of pretend cooking and baking fun!

Ride Ons
What toddler (or child of any age for that matter!) doesn't love zooming around on their own little ride on. I think every child would enjoy having their own little form of transport around the garden or house and there are so many styles to choose from including the plastic, character ride ons you find in large toy shops (I had a Zig and Zag one as a toddler!) to the more classical looking wooden styles which you can find in independent toy shops and online. I particular love the Wheelybug range of ride ons which come in many different animal and insect forms and which can move in any direction. We love the Wheelybug Bee which can be found here, profits from the sale of this particular model of Wheelybug this Christmas will go towards saving the bees, charity and a gorgeous, fun toy for your little one, what's not to love?

Books
I think the gift of a book is probably one of the best gifts you can ever give a child and at Christmas time there are some beautiful books to choose from with the most heart-warming stories. My particular favourites for Christmas time are The Snowman by and The Night Before Christmas, both are absolute classics and such exciting stories to read to your children on Christmas Eve night before they go to bed. You can also get personalised Christmas books for your little ones too. Digital Scribe offer a personalised Irish Christmas book called 'Irish Christmas Adventure' which features your child's name, hometown and many famous sites around Ireland. You can also add a picture of your child to the front of the book. I have this book for Tyler Lee and it also came with a letter from Santa, it's so sweet and I love how Irish it is. There are so many options and genres available when it comes to books making them the perfect gift for any child this Christmas.

Seasonal Themed Gifts
There's nothing sweeter at Christmas then receiving a gift which is full of the joy of the season and there are so many great options available for toddlers. The Snowman and the Snowdog are great little stocking fillers and are lovely characters to have for acting out the story of The Snowman. Christmas themed pyjamas, slippers and robes are always a lovely thing to include for little ones either as part of a Christmas Eve basket or as part of their main presents. This year I've also spotted some toddler friendly bath treats from LUSH and their 'Festive Friends' box contains some fun little Christmas themed characters which toddler will love popping in the bath and splashing around with at bath times.

Character Themed Gifts
Whatever your toddlers favourite television or book character may be I can guarantee there will be toys and other memorabilia for it. This year I have put together a Peter Rabbit box for my son. I've been picking up bits and bobs since May and something like this is so simple to put together. I've included a cuddly toy, DVDs, books, a peg puzzle, stacking blocks and playing cards so far and am looking for some more things to pop in too. I'm thinking I may get some Guess How Much I Love You things too and make it a book character box. My boy is also really into In the Night Garden at the moment so I think I'll be picking up some more of their character toys too.

Toys With Something A Bit Extra
Every child loves a good toy whether it be cuddly, wooden or plastic but toys are even better when they do something extra. My boy is a huge fan of the Guess How Much I Love You Lullaby Hares which look super sweet with Big Nutbrown holding Little Nutbrown but they also wind up to play Brahms Lullaby and Little Nutbrowns head moves back and forth whilst the lullaby is playing, it's so adorable. The Tobar Bump 'n' Go Bubble Train is another fab toy. It's a move along train which makes train sounds as it goes along but it also blows bubbles and has a sensor which means it maneuvers around objects when it's on the go. This is such a fun toy and my boy loves his bubble blowing train. Tobar also have a really cute plush dinosaur toy called the Snuggleasaurs which is not only great for little ones to snuggle into but when it's tummy is cuddled it lets out a dinosaur roar. My boy laughs everytime he does this and it's nice to have a cuddly toy with something extra and unexpected to it.

Personalised Gifts
I'm a big fan of getting personalised pieces for my son, I think it adds something extra special to a gift. Sites such as My 1st Years offer a wide range of gorgeous gifts for little ones. My favourites are the Personalised Wooden Guitar - perfect for budding musicians and the stunning star print hooded robes which are so cosy and cute for little ones during the cold winter morning and evenings before bed. Getting Personal is another great website which does the loveliest personalised gifts. I'm in love with their Personalised My First Train Set and their Personalised Children's Wooden Toy Tool Set and Case is another favourite of mine, it has everything any budding builder needs as well as showing who owns the tools.

These are just some gift ideas which are suitable for toddlers this Christmas. Have you begun your Christmas shopping already? What are you little ones getting this year?

  18. I've got two toddlers...they own *most* of these things, with the exception of ride ons. I had one for my son when he was little and that little butt hoisted it atop the couch cushions, then to the back of the couch and rode it straight down BOTH! I was doing dishes, he was sitting in the livingroom right behind me...here I was thinking that he couldn't get into trouble while I had my back turned, all of 8 feet away from him...but noooo....
I get "Hey Mum! Mum!" and turn around to watch him careen down the couch.

Last ride on toy in my house!!
