LUSH - Butterbear ♥

Last week I popped into LUSH to get my son a bath bomb, as you do (yes, I go to LUSH to get my 19 month old bath stuff, I'm one of those mothers...). I saw Butterbear on the LUSH website and thought it would be so sweet for my sons bath time as he's been having a hard time with his bath time lately due to not wanting to get his hair washed and I just wanted him to have something fun to pop in the bath to let him know it was okay and could be a fun experience for him. Butterbear is part of the new Christmas range and resembles a little polar bear. I have to admit I was expecting fantastic things from this product but was left feeling quite overwhelmed, thankfully it was for my son and he didn't take any notice, his bath was lacking in bubbles for once though. Butterbear is infused with cocoa butter and a vanilla-like scent which is quite pleasant. I ran this under the tap in the bath and crumbled straight away but didn't make any bubbles or turn the water any fantastic colour, it just left it looking cloudy if I'm honest. Butterbear has little pods of cocoa butter throughout which melt into the warm bath.

The scent of Butterbear is lovely though and does linger on the skin after a bath, this is something which I love when it comes to bath products. It left my sons skin feeling baby soft and nourished which is great as the colder months are setting in now and his legs and arms can tend to get quite dry. Summing up I can honestly say that for me Butterbear isn't the most exciting of LUSH products for me. It doesn't look particularly amazing and doesn't 'put on a show in the bath' but it is great for the skin and the scent is nice. The words which come to mind when I think of how to describe Butterbear are - mild, gentle and soft which I think sums up a teddy bear shaped bath bomb quite well! This is a lovely product for the little ones in your life or if your skin is quite dry and you want something nourishing. For just €2.50 you can't really go wrong and I think I might pick my son up one or two more Butterbears for future bath times.

Have you tried Butterbear? If so, what were your thoughts?

  1. I've never tried the butterbear bomb, but I do love a Lush bath bomb! I'm with you, though--the ones with the fizzles, bubbles, confetti, or colors make bath a lot more exciting than the ones that just crumble!

  8. I'm a big fan of LUSH - my favorite bath bomb is Lust (although that's pretty much the opposite of a teddy bear bath bomb...)

  10. did you have issues after having to clean the tub? i've used one bath bomb and after that.. i never bought another one. people tell me that i should use it whenever i am staying in a hotel so i don't have to do a thorough tub cleaning. :)

  12. I've never tried a butterbear but I do agree that for kids it would be better if it did something like bubbles or change colors

  19. I'm glad I'm not the only one that uses LUSH products in my sons bath! It's a shame this one wasn't so great, it looks like a lovely idea with it being a bear, but lots of bubbles are a must with my son. I find the comforter really god for this!

  25. Awww what's the point if it doesn't turn a pretty color or make bubbles? It's not like babies care about smelling like vanilla lol. I'm with you I wouldn't be that impressed either.
