Living Arrows - Week 15 ♥

Your children are not you children, They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

I am taking part in I Heart Snapping's weekly Living Arrows project, a photography project to capture an image which represents childhood to you through the actions, likes, dislikes, looks and movements of your own children. Below is my picture for the fifteenth week of Living Arrows. Yesterday was a gorgeously sunny day so my boys and I decided to go out in my parents back garden, put Tyler Lee on his swing and generally soak up the warm sun. We had a lovely time and it was great to unwind at the end of a long and busy day. I got this shot of my boy as his daddy was playing bungee jump with him, aka picking him up by his legs and then laying him down on the grass, he loves it and giggles so much anytime someone does it to him. I love the look of the lush green grass, the look of happiness on his face and the sun shining down on him. This is what Sundays are made for - happy children.
