Your children are not you children,
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet
they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your
thoughts, For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in
the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent
forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He
bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as He
loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

I am taking part in I Heart Snapping's weekly Living Arrows project, a photography project to capture an image which represents childhood to you through the actions, likes, dislikes, looks and movements of your own children. Below is my picture for the fourteenth week of Living Arrows. Yesterday Jacek and I spent all day moving all of Tyler Lee's things and furniture into the big spare bedroom. It was time for him to upgrade from his little box room nursery and get a proper toddler room with lots of space for him to play and have little adventures of his own. Here he was at bedtime, waving his little bunny around and being all happy. I think he was a mixture of being excited and bewildered, sure God love him. This is a new chapter in his growing up journey and we're having so much fun decorating his room with some fantastic decorations and space to fuel his imagination.
I love decorating. I hope Tyler Lee enjoys his new toddler room
ReplyDeleteDecorating is the best part of room moving :) He's still not quite sure about it but he'll get there.
DeleteDecorating a room is always so much fun. I love it. I hope Tyler Lee enjoys his new room.

It really is exciting but quite saddening at the same time too, my little baby is growing up! xo
DeleteLove decorating but I'm never satisfied. Love the bunting around his cot, think I'm going to make some bunting for Luca's room soon. I've just about recovered from making the wedding bunting. #livingarrows
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'll be satisfied either Franki, too many wonderful things on Etsy to tempt me to redecorate! Have fun with your bunting making :)
