Tyler Lee's Bedtime Routine ♥

 As a parent one of my favourite times of the day with my baby boy is bedtime, not because he's leaving me to go and have sweet dreams but because this is the time of day where he is winding down from his busy day of crawling around, exploring everything and being very active. This is also the time of day where I get lots of cuddles and big sloppy baby kisses so how couldn't I love it?! Tyler Lee's bedtime routine begins after his dinner, which he usually has between half four and five o' clock everyday. He has a bath every second day so if it's a bath day he is brought up to the bathroom where the bath is filled up using Johnson's Baby Bedtime Bath and warm water. I've been using the Johnson's Baby Bedtime Bath since he was born and I really do believe that the scent relaxes him as when his bath is finished he is always rubbing his eyes and wanting to go to sleep. To wash his long curly locks I use Johnson's Baby Shampoo which also has a lovely scent. After his bath I dry him off and take him to his room where he is put into a fresh nappy, we use Aldi's Mamia nappies in size 4 as they don't leak and are fantastic value. I then massage his skin, as it can get quite dry at times, with Johnson's Baby Lotion which makes his skin smooth and soft and the smell is just a proper tiny baby smell to me. As you can tell we're big fans of Johnson's products, they work so well for Tyler Lee and luckily enough because we stocked up on a lot of them before he was born.

After his bath massage I use Johnson's Baby Bedtime Talcum Powder on his chest and neck area as he dribbles a lot during the day due to his teething and I don't want the area to get red and sore, the scent of this is also very relaxing to him so it's perfect for bedtime. As it's winter and very cold here in Ireland Tyler Lee is never without a long-sleeved vest, this goes on before his pyjamas and then his pyjamas of the night which can sometimes be proper little 'grown up' pyjamas but I usually favour a onesie as they have the feet attached to keep his little toes warm when he gets up in the morning. Tyler Lee is then put in his grobag, we have two and use them in turn, one from Bubbaroo and one from The Gro Company. These grobags are fantastic as I don't have to worry about him kicking the blankets off himself during the night or pulling them over his face, I know once he's in his grobag that he's nice and snug for the night.

I then sit on his VW bus toy box and read him a bedtime story. This week I've been reading him some Irish Legends and Fairytales which he seems to enjoy as he jumps and falls around the cot snuggling into his comforters as I read to him. I then get all my cuddles and baby kisses which I love, this has to be my favourite part of the day.

After our final cuddle for the evening Tyler Lee is cuddles up immediately to his two favourite comforters, his Hector Hippo and Puppy, both of which are from Penneys/Primark. He also goes to sleep with his Pure Love Boy Bunny from Natures Purest which I've noticed him cuddling up to every night now the past week. His Cody the Smart Cub bedtime music goes on along with his Frankie the Frog by Summer which was purchased from Argos, he loves this as it has stars which can change to three colours, along with a heartbeat sound and six melodies. His Chicco night light also goes on, his room is like a light show at sleep time. Sometimes I'll turn on the tablet computer and put on Tyler Lee's bedtime music, a playlist of Enya and Mozart for babies which I've saved to YouTube, this music calms him and makes him fall into a peaceful sleep since he was a newborn. He is then given his dummy with a tiny bit of chamomile syrup on the end which immediately makes him close his eyes and drift off to sleep. By this time it is between half five and six o'clock and my precious baby boy is asleep for the night until he awakes anytime between half six to half seven in the morning. Before I leave his room I give him a kiss on the forehead, stroke his hair and tell him that I love him, it's important for me to do this every night, it's ritual for me now.  The past week he makes a noise when sounds like he's saying "love you too", it melts my heart! Finally, I turn off the light and close his door out safe in the knowledge that my baby angel is warm, snug and safely on his way to the land of nod.
