Tyler Lee's Christening ♥

On Saturday May 4th I was a very proud mammy as I christened my son Tyler Lee and shared this special occasion with close family and friends. Tyler was such a good baby as slept throughout the whole ceremony, even when the priest poured lashings of water on his head! I was praying that he wouldn't cry and he didn't so it seems my prayers were answered, fitting considering I was in a church! The christening took place in a small country church on our island and it was so lovely and quaint. Tyler wore the christening gown that I also wore for my christening so I guess you can say he went vintage! The dress was made from my mother's wedding dress so there is a lovely sentiment to it all. He also wore a white cardigan which was knitted by my grandmother and a beautiful blanket which she also knit him, her knitting skills are amazing! I wore a mint green dress from Red Herring, a cream blazer from H&M, shoes from Faith at Debenhams, a clutch bag from Penneys, hair accessories from Claire's Accessories and a necklace from my pen pal Yvonne from Germany.

Jacek and I made all the food for the afters ourselves and we were delighted that everyone enjoyed it even though we had mountains of it left over, once again we made too much! We ordered the cake and cupcakes from Cakes By Sy and I have to say it was so delicious. We chose the design of a baby lying on clouds surrounded by stars and the words 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!' as Tyler loves this song, it was such a beautiful cake, it really was a shame to cut it. The cake was vanilla sponge with cream, strawberries and chocolate throughout. The cupcakes were decorated with stars, dummies and booties and came in a mix of chocolate and vanilla sponge. Tyler received some wonderful gifts which I'm sure he'll treasure throughout his life, I was so amazed at everyone's thoughtfulness and generosity towards him. I'm so grateful that everyone came to celebrate Tyler's christening and I'm glad to say a lovely day was had by all!

My mum saved the topper of my Christening cake, she's still got it somewhere. She didn't get the chance with my brother's, though, two-year-old me destroyed it haha whoooops!
