Making the Most of Your Garden Throughout Spring & Summer ♥

Many people find it difficult to make the most of their gardens, whether that’s due to the weather conditions or simply not having enough time to spend on maintenance throughout the warmer months, but there are so many ways in which you can enjoy your garden and really make the most of it throughout the spring/summer months.

Embrace Alfresco Dining
One of the best ways to really enjoy your garden and make the most of having some private outdoor space is to enjoy some alfresco dining. There are so many benefits to spending time outdoors, from health through to your mindset and having a few meals in the garden can really help to boost your mood.

You often find that people like to create a dedicated dining space in the patio area, or maybe you have a section of the lawn that has the perfect ground for a dining space, whichever way suits your home you will not regret introducing some outdoor dining to your life.

For those who want to take things a step further and introduce a bold focal point to the garden, investing in an open gazebo is perfect for creating a relaxing spot for dining. Make sure your garden has a spot that is suitable for a gazebo and receives enough sunlight to make spending time there enjoyable, as you want a space that you can get lots of use out of!

Introduce Colour and Life
Having a garden full of life and character is perfect, especially in the summer. There’s nothing nicer than having a welcoming outdoor space that you can enjoy with your friends and family. It doesn’t matter how much space you have, there is always room to inject some life and transform the space with a little colour.

Introducing a colourful flowerbed to your garden is a great way to add some character to the space, whilst also giving yourself a little project to work on throughout spring. You can find everything you need to create your own flowerbed here, with a selection of high-quality soils, compost and other essential gardening items. Having a selection of colourful flowers will not only add an aesthetical appeal to your garden, but it will also enhance the space and create a positive atmosphere that you can enjoy.

Turn the Inside Out
Adding certain furniture pieces into the garden is ideal for ensuring you can really make the most of the space that you have. Whilst having a dining space is essential, there are other furniture pieces that you should consider adding into the garden to really make it a space you can use at all times.

There are so many amazing products available for the garden, from hammock swings to waterproof beanbags and adding a couple of these into the garden will instantly create a space for you to relax and wind down in. Similarly, you can look at adding garden sofas, greenhouses or sun houses and even an outdoor shower if you wanted to be really adventurous! Apparently, they’re becoming more of a thing in the UK now!

Make it Fun for the Kids
As soon as those warmer days arrive, you want to get the little ones outside enjoying some fresh air for as long as possible. With the unexpected weather conditions, you have to make the most of the warm weather whilst it’s here, so having a space that your children can use to play in, whilst getting the fresh air they need, is ideal.

There are lots of ways you can create a child-friendly garden and there are some really wonderful ideas to make a unique kids space in the garden. From investing in a high-quality climbing frame set, to games and toys that they can have hours of entertainment with, you can really create a mini outdoor play space for your little ones, so the whole family can enjoy the garden space together.

For Christmas 2016 Santa brought our boys their very own double storey playhouse and they've loved it ever since. You can watch the video of Tyler seeing the playhouse for the first time here. I have some DIY projects in mind for the playhouse this summer and it really is such a great space for the boys to call their own and encourage them to get out in the garden more.

How do you make the most of your garden in the warmer months?
