How To Give Your Kitchen Some TLC This Spring ♥

As hard as we try to keep our homes clean and tidy all year round, there is probably that one room in the house that is tidy on the surface but is secretly haunting you behind its closed cabinet doors… the kitchen.

The hustle and bustle of everyday life means that we can’t always put things back in their proper place or do that weekly clean of the ovens like we are told we are meant to. So now the time has come for the big, deep, Spring Clean.

The most daunting part of conquering the kitchen can actually be that you just don’t know where to start. You are perplexed as to where to begin when so many places seem to need tackling. Worry no more. Here is a quick guide to either work your way through the whole kitchen or take it a little at a time.

The Pre-Clean
Firstly, you need to make sure there aren’t objects and dishes on the surfaces. Get your rubber gloves on and wash, dry and put away everything that is out. Then give all of the kitchen’s surfaces a quick wipe clean and remove any odd clutter that isn’t supposed to live there.

The Cupboards
Now you can start to reorganise all of the tins and food in your cupboards. Get them all out and check their labels. Have a big black bin bag ready to toss all of your expired produce in. If you come across odd cans and tins of unopened foods which are still in date, but you know your family will not eat, you could store them in a box and donate them. Before restocking the shelves, spray and clean all of the insides of the cabinets. Do the same with the fridge and freezer.

The Appliances
To deep clean the oven you can buy numerous different products. One of the easiest is probably an oven cleaner spray. If you are using harsh chemicals to clean the insides of your microwave or oven, make sure you leave the windows open in the kitchen to get rid of the chemical fumes. If you want to try out some less chemically harsh, but just as effective, cleaning products there are loads of great homemade cleaners you can learn to make online. Also, don’t forget to turn the toaster upside down to get rid of all the old crumbs.

For Big Changes
If the spring clean just isn’t cutting it this year and you are desperate for a completely new look but can’t afford an entire kitchen refurbishment, one of the most affordable and effective ways of creating a brand-new vibe is to change the kitchen cabinets. Rather than changing the kitchen’s layout, which costs time and money, simply install new cabinets to introduce completely new colours and a new interior design theme to your kitchen space. From traditional Roma classic design kitchen units, to modern handless high gloss kitchen units, you will be to find a wide array of different units to pick from. You could also give the room a new shade of paint to complete that brand new, clean kitchen look.

Will you be giving your kitchen a deep clean or a makeover this spring?
