Jamie's Italian | The Buyer's Guide To Olive Oil ♥


I'm the first to admit that cooking isn't my strong point. I'm not the type of person who lovingly spends hours cooking up the most delicious of meals in a very homely kitchen - I much prefer baking, but I am conscious about using healthy ingredients whenever I can and choosing ingredients which give the best flavour to the meals I do prepare.

Olive oil is a cupboard staple in our house and I use it whenever I have to fry anything. However, I was totally unaware of just how many different varieties of olive oil there were and the different taste experiences they could give to the palate - I'm always telling Jacek how strong my palate is for picking up flavours, we really must try a blind food tasting experiment one of these days!

I was also unaware of just how many uses there were for olive oil when it came to preparing food and honestly, it seems like the perfect ingredient to have on hand, especially during the summer months, for drizzling on salads, whipping up dressings and using as a dip for some gorgeous, fresh bread - yum!
