25 Week Pregnancy Update | Baby #2 ♥

I can't believe that I'm going to be 26 weeks pregnant tomorrow, the days seem to just roll into one another at this stage and the weeks are really flying by. I know it won't be long until we meet our new little one and I for one am so excited, if not a bit nervous too about going from having one child to two. This week I've had a bit of a hard time with getting so worked up about the blog, etc. and I had to take a step back and just concentrate on myself and my family for a while. I feel so much better for it much more positive about things too.

This week I had another hospital appointment, in a different clinic from my usual one. It feels strange to be in two clinics at the moment but at least this one was a lot quieter than my usual and I was able to get out of there in forty-five minutes. I had to meet another consultant to discuss the possibility of me having a blood disorder of some type that caused me to lose a lot of blood during Tyler Lee's birth. I had ten vials of blood taken from me on the day to test for Von Willebrand disease, my full blood count and a platelet function testing. I'll be back in the clinic on February 29th for my results and if they have found anything we'll discuss a plan of action from there. The consultant did ask me what I thought was a strange question, she asked if there were any plans in place for me to deliver the baby early. There aren't and hopefully there won't be.

This week I've also been looking into placenta encapsulation and I'm considering it. It's supposed to be great for getting iron levels back up after birth (something I have an issue with), giving lots of energy and for combating baby blues and I'll do anything to not suffer from post-natal depression again. I'd love to hear from anyone who has actually done placenta encapsulation and the benefits it brought them after birth.

This week...

Baby is the size of a - napa cabbage, according to my Ovia pregnancy app.

I'm looking forward to - making the box room into a lovely little toddler room for Tyler Lee and getting the house organised. I want to start putting the baby things into what will be the spare room again.

My favourite moment was - spending some quality time with my boys and Tyler Lee saying hello to my bump and telling it that he was it's big brother - so adorable!

I've been feeling - much more positive after a hectic few days. I also have a lot more energy these days too.

I've been buying for baby - I bought another vintage item for the baby on Ebay. I had my eye on another but sadly they only ship to the US, cue my sad face. I also spotted a gorgeous Beatrix Potter themed wooden teething ring on Instagram and I asked the lovely lady who made it if she sells them, she kindly offered to make me one. It's a discontinued fabric and I love that it has Peter Rabbit on the front and the sleeping Flopsy bunny babies on the back. It's so sweet.

I'm missing - an undisturbed nights sleep and a life without silent reflux. My throat is constantly burning from acid, especially in the evening and night time.

I'm craving - blueberry muffins! I finally got my hands on one at the soft play yesterday but it wasn't the best. I think I'll have to resort to making my own.

I'm loving - the fact that Tyler Lee seems to be taking a big interest in the baby these days and seems genuinely excited that we're going to have a new baby in the house soon. I think the fact that we meet up with my friend who has a son Tyler Lee's age and a two month old baby has helped him get used to the idea.

I've been meaning to - I actually haven't been meaning to do anything this week as I finally booked my hair appointment. I'm looking forward to some pampering time as I haven't had my hair done since last June!

I can't wait for - my little boys birthday on February 16th. I'm going to have a three year old... I may shed some tears, he really has grown up so fast.

  1. I hope everything goes with your blood test results. When it comes to pregnancy you do get told strange things. I remember at 36 weeks being told baby wouldn't be long but it was another six weeks until she turned up!

    2. Ten vials of blood! That's very nearly an armful. Despite this, you sound suitably excited and quite right. The vintage item sound lovely too. It sounds like your little one's room is going to have a lot of character.

      Long may the happiness continue!

  3. Ooh, I think I may know someone who did placenta encapsulation, I'll check and see if I can put you in touch if she did. Those Peter Rabbit things are just adorable! I hope the rest of your pregnancy and your birth are as fabulous as these things can be. Oh, and the first year with two is properly hard work but after that they'll be the best of friends and you can relax a bit!x
