5 Tips To Sell Your Car Quickly & Effectively ♥

If you’re thinking about selling your car, you probably want to get it sold as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Selling your car can be a simple process if you know the best way to do it. There are a number of different ways you can sell your car, and it can feel overwhelming if you’re not sure where to start. Here are some tips to help you sell your car quickly and effectively.

Give the car a spring clean

The very first thing you must do if you want to sell your car quickly is to give it a good clean, inside and out. Make sure your car is looking its best, and if there are any faults you do not have the time or money to fix, list them in the car’s advert. Honesty is the best approach when it comes to selling a car effectively, and a potential buyer will be less put off by flaws if they have been already been informed before they come to view the vehicle.

Be available

A buyer will want to see the car before they buy it, and most will want to take it for a test drive. If you want to sell your car quickly then you need to make sure you are available to take calls and meet potential buyers. Make selling the car your priority and you will see it snapped up much faster.

Advertise your car

One of the quickest ways to get a car sold is through free online classifieds, although there is always the danger of meeting time-wasters this way. Other ways you can advertise your car is through paid advertising on sites such as EBay, through social media sites, or by putting up posters in shop windows, your home and your car. Ask your friends to put the word out too as they may know someone on the lookout for a used car.

Try your local dealership
Your local dealership is a great way to sell your car with very little effort. Most will always be looking for new stock, and if not, there are many online and national dealerships who will buy your car. You may not get the highest price this way, but it is an almost guaranteed way of selling your car quickly.
Sell your car through a part exchange
If you are selling your car because you want a new one, have you thought about a part exchange? Dealerships like Stoneacre offer part exchange, which is a way of saving money on a new car by using the value of your current car to act as a full or partial deposit. This is one of the easiest ways to sell your car, and if you’re on the lookout for a new vehicle, this could be the quickest way to get a great deal.

  1. These are good tips. I really was lucky when I left New Zealand as my parents bought my car from me. They still use it 6 years later. :)

  2. Knowing your way around a car also helps, also asking to see in the engine bay and hear the engine while its running, allows you to know whether to say, Yah or Nah to the car before you part with your cash.

I would still take trusted mechanic with me, just incase he see's something that I don't.

    Thanks for sharing.

  3. Good tips we don't drive but may come handy in the future.

  4. Great tips! Especially the spring cleaning one. No one wants to buy a cluttered car.

  5. Ah this is great advice for me, I`ve had my old car sitting outside our house for the best part of 9 months now...I REALLY need to get my act together and try to sell it! I`ll refer back to this for sure :) xx

  6. The 2 cars I sold I basically sold to the garage and got a new car from it. So basically the new car was cheaper.

  7. I am currently taking my driving lessons and hope to pass my test and buy my first car later this year. I think honesty is the best policy, and I would prefer if the buyer of the car I was to buy told me of any flaws.

  8. One of my tips would be don't sell your car to a friend or colleague. Every single time something goes wrong you will be blamed no matter how long ago you sold the car. I have seen friendships breakup over this.
