One thing I love to have in my home is fresh flowers. There's nothing lovelier than having some pretty flowers around the house, not only to brighten up the place but the scent they give off is so lovely too. I buy fresh flowers every two weeks, in fact, I just bought myself a bunch of pretty pink carnations yesterday and I think this is something that I'll always do - as my new Instagram profile @fawnsandfables states - "flowers, pink, shabby chic, vintage and pretty things warm my heart".
Something that's even better than buying flowers myself is being surprised with a bunch of flowers by my other half. Now, I'm not saying he does this on a regular basis - it wouldn't be much of a surprise if he did, but when he does bring home a lovely bunch of blooms just for me it really does bring a huge smile to my face. One occasion he always buys me a bouquet of flowers for is Valentine's Day, it's a sure thing and I always look forward to my bunch of beautiful red or pink roses. If you're ever looking for a beautiful bunch of blooms for someone special in your life, sites such as Flowers For Everyone have some nice options for Valentine's and their website is so pretty too. I think I may even have to get him a bunch of flowers for the day of love as the girls at work got him an amazing bouquet of flowers for his graduation, they were seriously awe inspiring!
I always try and feature flowers as much as I can on the blog, whether it be as part of my photography - this year alone I've featured sunflowers, daisies, rape seed blooms and buttercups. I also use flowers whenever I can in my photo styling, especially when it comes to my makeup reviews, adding flowers just makes pictures all the more pretty I think.
I didn't realise how much I loved flowers and floral print everything until I began this blog (hey, there's even flowers in my blog header!) and I think they're something that will always have a part in my life now. Nothing made me happier than leaving Amsterdam and finding rainbow tulips, I had never seen anything like them before and loved them so much that I had to take them home to Ireland. Flowers really do make the perfect gift - I don't think I've ever met a person who was left with a huge smile on their face after receiving a gorgeous bunch of flowers and I doubt I ever will.
Do you love flowers as much as I do?
