Spectrum Collections | The Glam Clam Limited Edition Atlantis Collection Makeup Brushes ♥

When I saw these beauties pop up on my Instagram feed I decided that I just had to have them. They may quite possibly be the most beautiful makeup brushes I've ever seen, everything about them is so gorgeous - from the minty green handle, to the purple and lilac two-toned bristles, they are nothing short of perfection.

I really like the name of this collection, the Atlantis Collection and I do think that the brushes have a mermaid vibe to them with their colour palette and clam-shell case that is just so pretty, it's not surprising this set is referred to as 'mermaid dreams' on the Spectrum Collections website.

This set includes ten brushes, all essentials for eyes, lips and face to create flawless makeup looks. The brushes included are -

 Flat Top Buffer
Large Domed Powder
Small Angled Blush
Buffing Concealer
Large Fluffy Shader
Tall Tapered Blender
Small Angled Blender
Angled Brow
Lip Liner
Eyeliner

I use these brushes everyday and they are amazing, especially the blender brushes, they allow me to blend my eyeshadow flawlessly without much effort at all. The bristles on these brushes are super soft, there is no fallout at all and the don't scratch or irritate the face or eyes, they just sweep over them effortlessly.

The only change I would make to these brushes is to have the bristles a little bit stiffer for more precise application, this may be personal preference though as I'm used to using stiffer brushes like those from the EcoTools and Real Techniques ranges, both of which I've reviewed on the blog before. Other than that they're fantastic and definitely worth the almost £60 for the set - an amazing price for a complete set of makeup brushes I think.

The brushes are encased within a lilac, faux-leather Glam Clam with rose gold detailing. It's such a pretty case and I keep my brushes within it rather than taking them out and putting them in my makeup brush holder, I think it'd be a shame to separate them really.

The Glam Clam is available from the Spectrum Collections website for £59.99 and as this is a limited edition product I'd get it quickly if you've been lusting over it. I can see the Spectrum Collections brushes becoming a bit of a cult beauty product and their main collection has already sold out, eek!

Do you love the look of these brushes as much as I do?

  9. I love these brushes! I wear the bare minerals make-up which is all powder and requires different types of brushes. I would definitely love to give these brushes a try! I love the case and the colors of the brushes. I think my brushes are a good mix of soft and stiff so these should work well!

  21. Beautiful case, do you think it would fit make up inside with the brushes too? Would you be able to use it as a travel make up bag with brushes and make up inside or would it not all fit? Thank you

    1. Hi Alicia, you could probably fit a very thin eye shadow and lipstick in there but not a lot. I don't use all the brushes everyday though so maybe if you took some of them out you could fit in more? Hope that helps.
