My Blogging Space ♥

For quite some time now I've wanted a little blogging space in my home, somewhere which I could call an office and a place that would inspire me to sit down and write my blog when I so wished. Ever since I began blogging I have also blogged with my laptop either on my couch or my bed and it's far from ideal really - although super comfortable!

Ever since we moved Tyler Lee from his nursery into his toddler room the spare room has sat idly by, becoming a dumping ground for unopened toys, Jacek's college notes and other bits and bobs that don't have a place around the house - all this is about to change, the box room is going to becoming a creative space and my office.

Yesterday I set about clearing out the room and reclaiming the desk that was in there. Now this desk would be my most favourite thing in the world, it has that light natural wood finished which I hate but it does have a pull out table and space underneath for my printer and camera bag so that's a plus! I'd love to paint it but as I don't own it (rented house) I don't want to go near other people's property. I might get some pretty floral fabric and put a glass top on it but we'll see...

I dotted some of my favourite things around the desk to truly make it my space - my rose scented candles, fresh flowers, some of my favourite prints, my snowglobe with my two angels in it, my tin full of important receipts and reminders, my blogging diary and of course my cameras, I have two for blogging, my Canon bridge for shooting at longer distances and my Nikon D3200.

I really love how my little blogging space turned out. It's quite girly with lots of hints of pink, just what I like and I'm glad to have gotten my Gil Elvgren pinup girl print up, finally (it's only been about four years!). I now have to sort out my chair and shelf space. I have some DIY projects I want to do, which I shall surely share with you all in an update on my office space very soon. Wish me luck in getting all of Jacek's college notes organised (can you see their ugliness on the side of my pictures?!) and put away, as well as making the room exactly how I want it for as cheap as possible - my thrifty self can't resist a challenge!

Do you like my blogging space? Where do you blog?

  1. Looks lovely, I generally blog at the kitchen table or on the sofa, usually surrounded by various piles of paper, notes and books - all mine, can't blame anyone else for them :) Enjoy the new space :)

  7. You have a lovely little blogging nook. I need a space to work at like that, but sadly, I work on my couch right now.

  8. I have a desk in my office for blogging but it is not nearly inviting enough. I love the way your space turned out, lots of inspirational items around. That makes for a comfy environment!

  9. Your space is MUCH nicer than mine. If you look at my desk, you'll see vitamin C pills, an assortment of pens that may or may not work, and a wide variety of post it notes, old envelopes, and scrap paper.

  14. I love your blogging space. I have a desk much bigger than that and all that happens is it gets piled up. I need to come up with a small space like this. It works for you; maybe it'll work for me?!?

  16. What a great little space for you to blog from!! I have blogged from every where in the house, I need for ind a designated location to keep everything centralized. I can't wait to see how you add to your space, I bet you will find some great frugal finds.

  17. Where do I blog? I actually converted a very small room into my blogging and design office/studio. It's located very near my kitchen, that way I can be close to where my family usually dwells. It's important for me, just like you, to have my blogging space because it allows me to be in the mood to be creative. My environment for this is absolutely important!

  18. Having your own space is super important. I finally got a desktop computer and now I can't stop blogging from the couch. I love my little corner of our office. I always feel so productive when I sit here.

  20. I love your blogging space! It looks so beautiful. I have an office here with a desk but can you believe I don't even use it? =( It seems like all my work is done in bed late at night or at the kitchen table. I can't wait to start working outside on nice days though.

  21. Your blogging space looks organized with touches of creativity. I like it. In my blogging space, I don't have anything on the table except for my laptop and the mouse. I like seeing blank so I can think more fluid thoughts and let me mind more relaxed.

  26. Oh it's beautiful and looks like a lovely place to do some blogging! I especially like the flowers and all the pink :) I always seem to do better work when I am sitting at an organized desk instead of on the couch in my pajamas! Great work!

  27. What a great space! When I first moved in to this house which hubs owned, I had my office down in the basement. Eventually I got tired of that and moved into the spare room with him. It has these bright red walls and I loath it. We had a new barn built and he moved out and made a 'man cave' out in the barn. So he has an office out there. Now the home office is all mine with the exception of the closet. I have a desktop and sometimes take my laptop into the living room. But, if I dont stay in the office I get too distracted. I have multiple websites to tend to and a freelance writing career. I have to stay focused or I wont get deadlines met.

  29. I have a room filled with toys and other stuff and really need to take your lead on this and clean it up. I could really use a comfortable place to do my work and also one where I can keep all of my supplies. I think I'll also stay even more focused and productive if I had a space to myself that is only about blogging and not about every other random thing in my house that ended up in the leftover space!

  34. We've got a little desk we built onto the backside of the kitchen bar, but we have big dreams of converting a space in the garage to both an office and a commercial kitchen so we can expand the baking we do from home! I think the private space away from the kids and chaos will help productivity a ton!

  36. That looks like the perfect little place to write! My "office" is currently in my living room and I'm hoping to change that soon when our lease is up in June! I can't wait to decorate my office all out! For now, I love the idea of adding a cute picture frame like you have and those fresh flowers are killer! Thanks for sharing your office. :)

  39. I love to have my own blogging space to work. This is a super organized and really clean space. I love it! It doesn't have to be huge to make you feel motivated and that makes success. Congrats on your space!
