Valentines Day Treats & Decor ♥

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and whilst I've been busy preparing some lovely treats for the two loves in my life - my fiance and our little boy, I've also been picking up some gorgeous cosmetics for myself to enjoy as well, after all, I deserve some loving too! I've also picked up some decorations for the mantlepiece too, it's safe to say I'm well and truly embracing the season of love this year.

The card I got for my little love Tyler Lee. I really do love him to the moon and back.

Two bears in love sitting by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, like seriously, how could I resist this card for my other half?! I'd love us to visit Paris someday soon so this is a nod to that.

I think perfume is a Valentine's Day staple and the one I shall be wearing this year is Comme Une Evidence by one of my favourite brands Yves Rocher. Isn't the bottle just beautiful? I love classic looking bottles like this that come with a pump, there's just something so whimsical about a pump on a perfume for me. The scent of this perfume is just as beautiful as the bottle it comes in. The scent is made up of crumpled violet leaves, rose, patchouli, bergamot, jasmine and wild lily of the valley blossom, it's such a light, feminine fragrance and is perfect for Valentines Day.

Valentines Day wouldn't be complete without chocolate of some sort and this year I've picked up my other half a special Toblerone - one of his favourite chocolate brands, that's pretty sweet as it says "you're my number one" on the front, very fitting for the day of love I'm sure you'll agree. I've also picked him up some different varieties of Galaxy. I also picked up a little bag of white chocolate buttons for my little love Tyler Lee but these are extra special with some sprinkles on them too.

You may have seen that last week I surprised my fiance with a batch of Valentine's themed cupcakes and a heartfelt card for when he came home from work. It's true, you don't need Valentines Day to show your other half that you love them, you should show them each day but last week I made and extra special effort and he loved it. I really loved how the cupcakes turned out. He thought the love-heart and the 'I ♥ U' decorations were great and he really loved his delicious sweet treat!

My other half and I will be going out for a meal on Valentine's Day and will be dressing up. Of course, dolling myself up wouldn't be complete without some gorgeous makeup and that's where Artistry comes in. Their stunning Little Black Dress palette is the newest eyeshadow palette to grace my makeup collection and I have to admit it's probably the most luxurious looking too. Encased in a gorgeous black patent, magnetic close compact, this eight-strong eyeshadow palette has a range of plum, berry, lilacs, grey and charcoal shades to make any perfect look for Valentine's Day, from a sweet day look to a sultry night look. I love this palette so much and shall be reviewing it in more detail on the blog soon.

I also have these two new stunning Artistry lipsticks and both are such perfect colours for Valentine's Day - I can't decide which one I like more. Velvet Classic (16) is the perfect plum shade for wearing for Valentine's Day evening. The lipstick has great pigmentation, is hydrating on the lips and is great for giving luscious, smooth lips. The other shade Honey (57) is the perfect shade of light red for sporting during the day.

Finally, I picked up some bargain decorations for my Valentine's mantle. I've never put one together before but now that my son is getting older I think it's nice to have some seasonal decor around the house for all the different events during the year. I picked up the heart lights and garland, as well as the little tea light houses in Dealz, all for just €1.49 each. The rose lights are from Penneys/Primark for just €4, as is the 'love' sign which was just €1 in the sale, the 'j'adore' chalkboard was just €2. I just dotted some tea lights on the mantle as well as a gorgeous lemongrass scented candle in a heart design tumble which we received as a house-warming gift from a friend. I love how the mantle looks now, it's so simple but quite pretty I think, especially in the evening when the lights are turned on.

One thing I'm having trouble with is finding the perfect, unique gift for my other half. We will be going out for a meal for Valentine's Day but I'd also like to get him something to surprise him too. Something which is all the range (and which I wouldn't mind receiving myself!) are subscription boxes. They really are the gift which keeps and giving and lets face it, who doesn't love receiving little treats via post?! The Subscription Box Finder was created by My Voucher Codes and can help you to find the perfect subscription box for that special person in your life depending on their interests. I think that Jacek would love Geek Box or the Beer Club Subscription. You can use the Subscription Box Finder below to find the perfect subscription box for your other half, or yourself if you think you deserve a treat too!

Have you any special plans for Valentine's Day? Have you picked up any treats for yourself or your other half?

  1. Wow, this is just lovely. The effort you are going through. Incredible. I would really love some Toblerone now. :D I didn't plan on any Valentines Treats this year because I thought we were expecting/preparing for baby no 2. Considering she is already here now I might buy some small bits for him. No going out meal unforunately.

  2. Your decorations all look so amazing. We actually don't celebrate Valentine's Day in our house, although I do get each of the boys a small gift.

  3. I grew up in a family that went nuts decorating for every.single.holiday. I used to think my family was nuts, till I had children. I don't know how it happened, but as soon as I had my first son 13 years ago, the seasonal decorating kicked in. We even decorate and have a party for the Olympics! I haven't gotten anything for my hubby yet, I'm scratching my brain this year to do or get him something unique. I just haven't thought of anything yet...

  5. You have been busy! I've been in labour twice on Valentine's day and given birth once on the day! So, our day is kind of overshadowed. I love everything you got though - you will have such a lovely day!
