Pretty Little Things | New Additions To My Home ♥

From reading my blog you may know that I love anything vintage inspired, shabby chic themed or with a whimsical element to it. I have been trying to make my home much more to my taste in recent weeks, I have been updating the soft furnishings and picking up little ornaments and decorations to tie everything together and make my shelves and surfaces look even prettier. Having some beautiful things on display really brightens up the place, plus I love looking at them all. I recently picked up some beautiful pieces from The Handpicked Collection (who sadly are no longer trading). I was seriously spoilt for choice whilst browsing the site and I have my eye on a few more picks from there too so expect another post like this sometime soon. Let me show you what I got...

Firstly, I picked up the most beautiful and whimsical bookends I have ever seen in my life, the Once Upon A Time Bookends - aren't they amazing? I wanted to keep these and put them in my room with my Alice in Wonderland books but I thought they looked rather sweet with my sons Beatrix Potter, Guess How Much I Love You and vintage fairytales book instead, don't you agree? I love the font style and the cameos of the prince, princess and the castle. They are such pretty things and great for putting our most treasured books on display. These bookends are now only £17.50 too, such a bargain and a great addition to my home.

I've had my eye on the Rabbit Night Light for quite awhile now so I thought it was high time that I picked it up. This is also in my sons room (that boy gets the best things) as he loves having lots of night lights on as he goes to sleep. I think it's such a sweet little thing and it fits in well with a lot of the rabbit themed items he has on display in his room.

I had seen these Handmade Felt Animal Slippers - Finlay Fox a long time ago in a shop up the country and regretted leaving them behind ever since so I was delighted to see them on The Handpicked Collection website. They are stunning and I love the felt material they are made out of. Every part of the fox is done to perfection with his whiskers, wiry tail and pointy ears. I got these slippers in size 4-5 so they will go on display on my sons shelf for awhile, although I don't know if I could ever let him wear them, they're too special for everyday wear I think.

Finally, I had wanted some little glass milk bottles for awhile now, just for the whimsy of drinking from them really, I knew my son would love the novelty of drinking from a straw from a bottle so when I saw the School Milk Bottle Crate I just had to get it. When this arrived it really took me back, we used to have milk from bottles like this in primary school. The little metal crate they come in is super sweet too and perfect for keeping them safe from breakage. They are now in display in my kitchen and are actually perfect for putting flowers in too for a vintage style display - I love them!

The Handpicked Collection has so many gorgeous products to offer and their gift ideas are just beautiful (my birthday is just over two weeks away if anyone is taking note...) and everything is so reasonably priced too - a big winner with my thrifty self. When I have a garden with a tree I need to get the Traditional Tree Swing, I just think it is the loveliest thing ever, it reminds me of those makeshift swings we used make with discarded pieces of wood and rope as children.

Do you like my new pretty little things?

  15. Oh gosh! your photos take me back to the time I was fixing my daughter's baby 'space'. It was a tiny area but enough to decorate it with the same shabby chicness that you shared. :) I definitely wish I had those book ends you featured!
