A Much Needed Pamper Parcel ♥

Recently, I've been in desperate need of a bit of rest and relaxation, mostly because I've been quite ill and have been running myself ragged trying to still keep everything in order at home, looking after my son and maintaining my blog. There's nothing better when you're sick then snuggling up on the couch, under a nice warm blanket, some therapeutic chocolate in one hand and the television remote in the other, in fact, this would have been ideal and just what I needed, however, Jacek had other ideas...

I know I'm not alone in having an other half who loves to take over the television and will put on anything except on what I like to watch. Now that the sporting season is back in full swing he's taken to watching rugby union again and if there's one thing in life that I am most definitely not into in life, it's sport. Of course, being South African Jacek just has to follow the rugby union, one night he even stayed up until four in the morning just so he could watch the match live, sadly for him South Africa lost that game - what a waste of his time! When Ireland are playing South Africa I like to pretend I'm up for Ireland just to rile him up but truth be told I really couldn't care less who wins!

While it's lovely for him to have a sporting interest, especially as it concerns his home country, I  just can't stand the way he turns into a 'man-zombie' when he's watching a rugby game, you simply can't catch his attention when he's transfixed looking at the television screen, getting into the game and really hoping with every ounce of his being that South Africa beat whoever they're playing, all the while I'm sitting back longing for the remote to change onto the soaps or at least something that doesn't involve a load of men chasing after a ball...

Luckily for me the lovely people at Betfair know all about the trials and tribulations of being a sporting 'widow' so they very kindly sent me a very thoughtful pamper parcel filled with a whole host of gorgeous and tasty goodies to keep myself entertained whilst my other half was hooked on watching the rugby. My pamper parcel came in a beautiful handmade wooden box adorned with a blue, football design ribbon, red tissue paper and football and star confetti inside. It contained lots of chocolate, popcorn, shortbread, a lemon scented bath bomb, Burts Bees lip balm, a lovely aromatic candle, a luxurious bath and shower wash and a hydrating body cream - all the things I'd need to pamper and treat myself while Jacek was having fun (not that I'd think it was fun in the slightest!) watching the rugby.

I started my pamper session with a good, long soak in the bath with my zesty bath bomb - it was Heaven getting to relax in something that smelt so good. I then moisturised my skin with my lovely new body cream, it left my skin feeling so soft and nourished. I then popped my treats of chocolate, popcorn and shortbread into my lovely star-shaped bowls before laying myself on the couch to enjoy the yumminess in front of me whilst catching up on some of my favourite blogs. It really was the best way to spend an evening and I loved pampering myself with all my thoughtful goodies. Meanwhile, Jacek hadn't even noticed I'd left the room, he was still transfixed on the game, he only noticed I had had a bath and had a plethora of sweet treats in front of me when it ended, he then wanted one of my giant milk chocolate buttons... I tried to refuse as they were just too good but at least sharing with him helped my waistline - it needs all the help it can get due to my aversion to sports of any kind!

A huge and very grateful thank you to Betfair once again for giving me a much needed pamper parcel, it really was a delight! Now if only I could find a way to reclaim my television and my other half when those pesky rugby games are on...

*I was sent the pamper parcel courtesy of Betfair to treat myself while my fiance was busy watching his beloved rugby games, all thoughts and opinions in this post are my own*
