Book Advent Calendar - The 1st Six Books ♥

Tyler Lee Learns the Months of the Year
This lovely personalised book was the first book from our new Christmas tradition, the book advent calendar. This is a soft covered book which goes through the months of the year highlighting the occasions and best things about each one. The illustrations are really lovely and it's great to see my boys name featured on every page. You can get your own here.

 Stick Man
Literally the story of a Stick Man who gets separated from his family and used for all different things by lots of people and their pets until he suddenly saves the day of a very festive and jolly man - can you guess who? Will Stick Man be reunited with his stick family? You'll have to read it to find out. You can buy it here.

 Millie-Mae In Winter
This is one out of a series of four books about the season. This is a board book with lots of glittery textures for the snow and snowmen making it fun for little ones to feel as they're being read to. I love the illustrations, it's such a pretty book. I just wish the story was a bit longer. You can buy it here.

 One Snowy Night
This is part of the Percy park keeper series of books and this particular book tells the story of all the animal visitors Percy gets at his hut on one snowy night. The illustrations in this book are really lovely. You can buy it here.

 Beauty and the Beast
This is the first Disney book we read from the book advent calendar and I'm so glad it was this one because we watched the film for the first time during the week. This book follows the story from the film and has the illustrations from the screenshots of the film too. My boy loved holographic cover. You can buy it here.

 The Gruffalo's Child
This is the follow on book from the well loved The Gruffalo and follows the story of the Gruffalo's child who, inspired and undeterred by her father's story about the Big Bad Mouse goes in search of him but like her father she gets tricked by the mouse too. I love the rhyming verses in this book. You can buy it here.

Tyler Lee and I are really loving this book advent calendar, he's become such a pro at opening each book from it's wrapping now too, he'll be well prepared for Christmas Day! It's so lovely to get him to pick a book, open it and then read it to him before bed. He's really enjoying all the stories and looking at the books after I read them to him. I'm looking forward to seeing what the next six books are and shall be posting about them next week.

Are you doing a book advent calendar with your child? What have you been reading?
