My Autumn Makeup Picks ♥

Hello dollies! Autumn is now upon us so I thought I would share with you all some of my favourite makeup picks for the season. For me autumn is all about warm tones, berry shades and purples. This is the time of year when I really embrace brown shadows and like to dig out my beloved MAC lipstick shades which I keep for this time of year. I love all the warm toned shades which are perfect for autumn and I think the products which I've chosen to feature are perfect for the season.

First up is MAC Lipstick in 'Twig'. This is a gorgeous brownish-red shade which just screams autumn to me, even the name 'Twig' conjures up images of autumn to me. The colour is very wearable and quite natural looking and I love the shade. This lipstick is so long-lasting too (perfect for sipping on all those pumpkin spice lattes!) which is a big winner with me as I've found other MAC formulas to rub off quite easily. I've had so many people ask what this shade is when I'm wearing it so I think it's quite lovely to look at. 'Twig' is also a shade which can be worn on autumn days and also for those fun autumn nights out. You can read my full review and see more pictures of 'Twig' here.

Another lip colour option I love for the autumn is MAC Lipstick in 'Up the Amp'. I love berry and purple shaded lip colours for the autumn and 'Up the Amp' is such a gorgeous purple shade. I sometimes wear this shade during the day but it's quite daring for me so I think it's more suited to night time wear. The pigmentation is great and the purple is really striking, I love it.

Next up is Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in 'Natural'*. This is such a lovely looking blush featuring pressed hearts of various pink and neutral shades with a hint of shimmer. I've been wearing this blush daily and it gives a gorgeous candy pink glow to the cheeks, it's so natural looking and is perfect for day wear. The little pot the blush comes in is lovely and it even has a little brush in an underneath compartment. This was the first product I tried from the Physicians Formula range and I am seriously impressed.

I've also been loving the Physicians Formula Magic Mosaic Powder in 'Warm Beige'*. Now that the colder months have arrived it's perfectly acceptable to start wearing a heavier foundation and pressed powder again. I've been loving this Physicians Formula powder, it looks great in the pot and keeps my foundation looking great and oil free all day long. It doesn't feel too heavy on the skin, just gives a nice, non oily look to foundation and keeps it in place and looking natural. Like the blush this pot has an underneath compartment with a brush making it fantastic for popping in your handbag when you're out and about on those autumn days.

One of my favourite foundations for the colder months is MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in 'NC25'. When I discovered this foundation I instantly fell in love with how it made my skin look. The coverage is perfect for me and it's great that it's buildable for nights out too. It is on the pricey side of the makeup scale but I think it's well worth the money as it lasts for absolutely ages. There are so many shades available too so there's guaranteed to be something to suit every skin tone. I get the NC which is meant for warmer toned skin but there is also an NW range available.

A purse friendly eye shadow palette option for the season is the Catrice Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette. This palette contains six stunning neutral shaded shadows which a hint of shimmer in each. It's the perfect palette for those on a budget without compromising on quality or pigmentation. My favourite shades are the light, medium and brown shadows in the middle of the palette, I mix these three together to form a gorgeous brown shade for day wear. This palette for those who are fans of the neutral look and wear it on a daily basis. The palette is small enough to fit in your handbag and is such great value for money.

Finally, skin can need a bit of a boost during the colder seasons and LUSH 'Feeling Younger' Skin Tint* is the perfect highlighter to give your cheekbones the perfect hint of glow. This is an amazing highlighter and I immediately fell in love with it when I tried it during The Cork Meetup in July. This can be mixed in with your moisturiser or your foundation to give a gorgeous, dewy glow to the skin. It can also be used under the eyes to combat dark circles. I use this on my cheekbones to highlight my face and give my skin a bit of a glow on those drab, dull days.

A complete eye shadow palette I love the look of for autumn is Urban Decay Naked Palette. This original of the Naked palettes contains some gorgeous shades for autumn. My personal favourites for the season are 'Half Baked' and 'Smog' which have golden hues to them, 'Darkhorse', 'Toasted' and 'Hustle' which are three beautiful shades of brown and 'Sidecare', 'Buck' and 'Naked' which offer a more subtle shaded eye look. I love all of these eye shadows and what's great is they can be mixed to form some gorgeous eye makeup looks for day and night. This palette really does have so many options and I love it!

There you have it, my autumn makeup picks. These products have been staples in my makeup bag this season and I think the shades are perfect for those breezy autumn days. Have you used any of these products? What are your autumn makeup picks?

  1. I'm awful when it comes to makeup. I've been using the same one for the last few years. Which is awful really.
Essence liquid foundation 10 and maybelline mascara the yellow one.
    Probably need different recommendations.

  8. Great choices! I love the Physicians Formula bronzer and have it in my bag right now, too! :) I also adore all things by Lush--I've never tried the skin tint, but if it's as awesome as the rest of their products, I bet I'd LOVE it! :)
