Rearranging Tyler Lee's Toddler Room ♥

As of late Tyler Lee's room has become an absolute mess, no matter how many times I clean it up it becomes a disaster zone as soon as he enters it. The boy simply has too many things and not enough space to store it all. I really want some shelves to place some of his favourite books and little knick-knacks on but until I manage to get them I've tried my best to declutter and make his room as organised and functional as possible. I haven't made any big changes but I have moved the furniture around to make room for Tyler Lee's new play kitchen.

For ages now I've wanted to declutter the top of Tyler Lee's chest of drawers and just have some of his special things displayed, I've finally gotten round to it! Before it was cluttered with a handmade statistics picture of his birth, pictures from his first year and other bits and bobs, now it has a more minimal look and I love it! I actually never knew he had so many rabbit and hare themed items, I think it's our 'thing'. I made his keepsake rabbit, made from his first babygrows pride of place. I placed all his Guess How Much I Love You books there, his White Rabbit England lamp, a baby in God's hands ornament and a handmade nightlight designed in the figure of one of his favourite comforters.

This is where Tyler Lee's chest of drawers were previously but they've been moved next to his cot now. I put his play kitchen from Kids Play Kit in it's space, this area will be his little kitchen area and I'll eventually get a little table and chairs to put in front of it and put his food things and shopping trolley here too when Santa brings them at Christmas. I hung up his beautiful royal flag bunting from Chloris Boris which was a decoration for his 1st birthday, I love it on the wall. A five picture frame used to be hung on this wall with postcards of angels in it but I've now moved that to on top of his white cube unit. I hung up the gingham applique pictures which we got from Pink Lining Child and I think they look lovely on the wall.

His little rainbow and cloud hanging used to be where the gingham applique pictures now are but I think it looks far nicer here over his cot and by his bunting. I was going to get rid of this bunting which hangs over his cot as I was afraid he'd start pulling on it but he hasn't so it's staying. I really love it too so I'm glad he's not gone near it!

This is probably the biggest change to his room. I initially had the white cubed storage units next together on the wall but my boy loves his corner! This will eventually be his reading corner and will have a teepee filled with cushions and throws but until that comes (still undecided if it will be a Christmas or 2nd birthday gift) I put together a makeshift comfy space for my boy. I just laid down his super soft, padded blanket from Fluffy Fields, scattered some cushions around, made a canopy from a fleece through and put and blanket and his cuddly rabbit in there, he dove straight in when he saw it - it's the simple things in life that he loves. I tried to organise the toys in the cubes and just make the whole thing look a whole lot tidier.

Finally I just wanted to include pictures of my favourite parts of his room. I love his teal cot and the double bunting. I also love the 'Love You Forever' quote and the whimsical hot air balloons mobile, it doesn't hang over his cot anymore but I love it just hanging there over his play area.

  1. I love the "Love you forever" quote on the wall, that book makes me cry everytime I read it to Elliot!! His bedroom looks lovely, I need to do the same for Elliot's room as its quite messy - he's got about 5000 books (maybe a slight exaggeration!) and they're constantly being pulled out. Unfortunately his bedroom is quite small so I'm a bit limited but I do want to have a change around. I'm going to get him a little kitchen too, probably for christmas so need to make space for that! Most of Elliot's toys are in our lounge so I can never seem to get tidy!!

  10. The decor is incredibly charming! I especially love the little fort. Some of my best childhood memories were under blanketed hideaways and I'm sure your little one will enjoy much of the same. Cute, cute, cute!

  12. I love his room. The small bits hanging around are so cute. but best of all has to be the reading corner. I would love something like that for Matthew but there is not much I can rearrange because the room isn't big.

  13. What a fun, perfect living space! I love the philosophical wall stickies (meaningful and timeless), but I know if I was his age, I would be most enamored with the reading 'tent' corner. What a perfect hide-away to cuddle up with a good book. <3 Beautiful room!
