Weigh-In Wednesday #1 - My Herbalife Journey ♥

For awhile now I've decided that I have to do something about my weight as it's really begun to get me down and my relationship with food was becoming so unhealthy. I was eating chocolate and other junk food like there was no tomorrow, having hardly any healthy fruit and vegetables and not only was I feeling so depressed about it all but my underactive thyroid wasn't on my side either meaning that I am now the heaviest I have ever been and I feel absolutely ashamed and mortified about it all - this is why I took the decision to begin my Herbalife journey. I've heard so many fantastic things about Herbalife and have been amazed at the results some people I know have achieved. I not only want to lose weight but also begin a healthy living lifestyle. I tried to do this after my son was born but I just wasn't in the right place for it, I was depressed and didn't have the will power to stick it out, now though I am determined.

I began Herbalife on Wednesday April 30th 2014 and have found it surprisingly easy to stick to. Yes my energy levels were gone at first and I did feel quite ill but I put all this down to my body detoxing from all the crap I was eating. According to the Herbalife website my BMI is 39 which is classed as very overweight. People have told me that I don't look what I weigh but I can now feel it in myself and carrying all this weight around is doing me no good. As a mother I need to be healthy for my son and as a woman I need to feel comfortable and good in my own skin.

The Herbalife products I am taking are -
Formula 1 Shake in mint chocolate flavour
Formula 3 Personalised Protein Powder
Fibre and Herb food supplement tablets

For breakfast I have a shake - 3 scoops with 1 scoop of Personalised Protein Powder
Mid-morning snack is a strawberry Greek yogurt
Lunch is another shake but with 2 scoops of Personalised Protein Powder
Mid-afternoon snack is a can of plain tuna - no sauce!
My dinners for the week have been chicken tikka with brown rice and steamed carrots, omlette with yellow pepper and red onion, cottage pie, roast chicken, peas and some mashed potato, a plain omlette with green beans.

I am really determined to stick to my Herbalife programme and even though I do miss proper food it's great to be able to still have a nice dinner and snacks throughout the day. The mint chocolate flavour shake is surprisingly tasty too. It tastes like mint flavoured ice-cream and has small little chocolate chips in it - perfect for my sweet tooth.

My stats for week one
Total weight loss - 6lbs although could be more as the scales were acting up. When I weighed myself on my mother's scales on Sunday I had lost 10lbs. I'm going to invest in my own scales and keep track.
Body fat loss - .4 of a pound.
Water - 36.2 went up to 36.4
Muscle - 117.4 went down to 115.5
Body age - Stayed at 39
Visceral fat - Went from 12 down to 11.
BMI - 39 went down to 38

Overall I've done really well for week one and hope to see these stats going in the right direct at next weeks weigh-in.

I shall be weighing in every Wednesday. I have quite a way to go, wish me luck!

  1. Good luck, hope it works for you but I hate these diets. I did the Cambridge Diet and it made me really poorly and the weight all piled back on.
I'm doing Slimming World at the Moment and I've lost 11lb in three weeks and I'm eating massive amounts.

  8. Good look with your weightloss plan. I`ve done a week on the 5:2 but yesterday and this morning felt very ill and headachey. I`m stopping it as I have my two little ones to look after and can`t feel like that. I`ve always battled with my weight and even more so after having my two children. I`ve decided no more diets just cut out the rubbish and exercise which will be mainly walking with my daughter in pushchair while my oldest is at nursery.
I look forward to hearing about your weightloss journey

    1. Thank you Poppy! What a shame you felt so ill and full of headaches after the 5:2. They say yoy get headaches if you're not drinking enough water while your body is detoxing. Better off just to cut out the rubbish and exercise as much as you can :) xo
