MAC 'Bombshell' is one of the six MAC lipsticks I got for Christmas and I was instantly drawn to the shade when swatching in my local MAC store. The shade is a gorgeous mid-toned rosy pink with hints of gold and pink shimmer. 'Bombshell' (don't you love the name!) is part of MAC's frost formulation of lipsticks so has a stunning shimmer and glossy sheen to it, it truly is gorgeous when on the lips. I know frost isn't a formula everyone is a fan of but this lipstick is one which could be quite a surprise for non-frost fans. It's quite opaque with one application but is buildable and I think it's a shade which would suit a wide variety of skin tones. I love how pink the colour is without being too over-bearing, it's quite a girly shade which could come across as 'Barbie' but surprisingly it's not too in your face and as you can see from my picture below it looks quite demure and fits in well with a full face of makeup. This lipstick glides onto the lips so smoothly and doesn't sit into the lines on my lips as much as I find other MAC lipsticks do. I think 'Bombshell' would look lovely with a similar pink shade gloss over it just to enhance the sheen it already has a bit more but I have a slight aversion to gloss as it's so windy where I live and wearing my hair down plus wind equals hair straight onto glossy lips, not an attractive look! Overall, I love this shade. I find myself wearing it almost everyday, I just love the finish it has. I'm so glad I picked this up and added it to my collection. I am definitely getting the use out of it and lets face it, a true girly pink lipstick is something every girl's lipstick collection needs.
Stay pretty people!
